Look at Alabama acting above Mississippi. Without bama and au football your state is no different. Not to mention Alabama tolerated those annoying freedom riders.

I don't know. With our reputation for toting guns, even crazy people are likely to think twice here. To a man, they seem to be cowards who choose targets where no one will shoot back. Even the Charleston shooter chose the easiest of targets, a bible study group with many older people present.
I sincerely hope that there are responsible young people on every SEC campus with a gun tucked securely in his or her backpack/satchel/purse. Getting caught with a gun is much less damaging than getting blown away by a madman.

GREY = Concealed guns allowed by law, but schools limit locations/who carries
GREEN = Concealed guns on campus prohibited by law
YELLOW = Schools decide weapons policy
ORANGE = Concealed guns allowed only in locked cars in parking lots

I'd like to see how these trends go after a Near Complete Media Blackout for 5 years. That means 24 hr news cycles dont ever mention any school shootings. You dont have Cnn and Fox News giving tons of coverages to it for 3 days. Just put a small article off the front page in the local papers or let small local news cover it. I bet you the numbers would drop signicantly when copy catters realize they wont get the same notoriety.

Not that it matters, but you can have a concealed handgun in a car on a campus in TN provided you have a permit and do not handle it while on campus.

True story:
When filming Animal House, they had to bus in black people from Portland down to the Eugene area because they weren't enough black people around Eugene for the scene at the Dexter Lake Club ("Do you mind if we dance 'wit yo dates?").
I went to the Dexter Lake Club last year. Cool place. Sadly, it closed again. They had the Deathmobile parked out front. Sadly, did not see Otis but he has come back a couple of times.

You realize how fricked the world is when you're sitting in your living room with your SO and coverage of the shooting comes on the TV and neither of you say a thing to each other, like it's just an everyday occurrence not worthy of a reaction or discussion. Not even a "isn't that terrible," or "what the frick is wrong with people?" or "it's crazy how many mass shootings there are." It might as well be Al Roker giving us the fricking weather.

The easiest thing to get is a gun. I could go out tomorrow and acquire a dozen guns illegally before I landed an interview for a 2nd job

I'll go home tonight and try to dance around talking about it until after my 5 year old daughter goes to sleep.
I treasure the age she's at now when we can still shield her from knowing too much about all the awful things going on every day around the world.

If they said Christian they were shot in the head.
If they said otherwise or didn't answer they were shot in the leg.

Mine has always capitalized "Christian." What are you talking about? Pretty much all phone OSs these days capitalize proper nouns and common names.
