Did you know Missouri have a first year coach as the OC? Also he have never been an OC before. Give him time to learn on the job and recruit his guys and get some ideas and experiences as OC. I like what I see but he is not quite get things done yet. Next year shall be even better. I was told Dooley have a very high IQ. So he shall make the offense much better next year. Got to give the coaching staffs time to gell and learn on the job as a group. Does not do any good if Missouri keeps changing OC or any key coach leave and have to start over. Gary Pinkel had his coaching staffs together for a long time and that help build the program. Give Barry Odom 5 years to build his program. If he goes 7-5 or better than you better sup[port him and be positive for next year and get on board with this coach and his staffs.

Not bad, considering it appears english is his second language. A good troll always assumes total ignorance on the part of others. Well done indeed.

Lock is Eli Manning

Can make great throws and terrible ones

Looks completely overmatched at times but occasionally makes you think he has it.

Has a world class arm.
He falls apart under pressure.
He sometimes throws guys open.
He sometimes stares down his target and waits.
He looks all world.
He looks like arse.
I have seen you praise him.
I have seen you denigrate him

but mostly

if your mother had sucked she could have just spit you out

With the time he had no one was open in time. It looked like many times WR gave up on routes when they were not open. The time he threw a touchdown he had to point to Knox where to go.

He did miss some passes. When Bama dropped back with 8 and rushed 3 he was able to hit one of the 5 receivers for a touchdown.

He may not be the best QB in the 2019 class, but he has had little help from his WR’s the last 4 games. He is not afraid to take a hit and tonight there were vey few times he was able to step up in the pocket. He had to dropback or rollout almost every time. This caused him to have less zip on his ball and less accurate.

Should have went with two TE fronts for quick short passes and open up the run. This could have opened up the middle of the field and spread out their LB’s.

Still would have lost, but we could have scored a few more points.

Proud of the D tonight

Lock needs Hall to get healthy. He’s a good QB when he has receivers that can consistently beat coverage and get open.

With Hall out Mizzou doesn’t have that, that’s when Lock presses and makes the mental mistakes.

Drew Lock was touted as a top 10 draft pick which means people expect him to elevate a struggling NFL franchise who will have a pick that high in the 2019 draft.

He has shown he cannot elevate his team past bowl teams in college, so why would you invest in a player who is 1-17 against winning P5 opponents when you will once again play on a team with a talent gap in the NFL?

I’m sorry but Maty Mauk at least wills us to a better record than 1-17 against wining teams and that kid was trash at QB in my opinion.

Lock's never had a great wide receiver, so I feel bad for him in that sense. Albert O. is probably the best of the lot. Otherwise it's been a succession of questionable-handed wideouts who can't get open.

That's where Lock being strictly a pocket QB has killed him at Mizzou, but would be considered an asset in the pros. He's never benefitted from the completions that come from scrambling when a play breaks down.

It really is a shame Maty Mauk flamed out. Pinkel was bringing him along slowly and building his confidence. It might not have made a difference in what he is currently, but I don't see how he could be much worse - individually or with wins as a program.

He's the college version of Alex Smith.

Lock will be lucky at this point to put up the later career success of Alex Smith.

I don't know if it will still be first round. He's certainly hurt his stock against quality competition. But he will have an excellent Pro Day because he does have the arm. He will probably show decent in the various tests. While I think he has bought into his own press clippings too much, I don't think he's as dumb as Gabbert. He will go in the first couple of rounds. He will probably have a Gabbert type of career.

I think you guys were asking a lot of Lock to play 2 top 5 teams without his top 2 WRs.

To me that is an excuse. We are suppose to have a transcendent talent at QB, so work with what you have and elevate the team around you. Being down two WR still doesn't explain the inaccuracy and poor field reads.

He had players open and missed them. Especially what you would call open in NFL standards.

He was pressured, yes. But there were opportunities for him to navigate and step up in the pocket to set his feet and get the ball out quick.

Go look at the film. Our OL did a decent job pushing the DE’s/DT’s past the QB to ensure they were not even with Lock giving him an opportunity to step up. What does lock do? He continues to back pedal into the pressure. Cook had his share of problems, no doubt, and our line was not perfect, but they gave him 3-5 sec to make decisions.

On numerous plays, he had enough time to get to his 3rd and 4th reads. On those plays he under threw his Tailbacks or threw behind his receivers on shallow crosses which was also evident on film.

Except this is college not the NFL.

In the NFL you replace injured players with NFL talent and you play against other NFL talent.

College ball doesn't work that way. We replaced two experienced seniors with 2 guys who were in high school a year ago.

And it was Alabama and Georgia, two teams with more NFL talent on defense than anyone.

Lock will be fine down the stretch as long as Hall and Brown come back 100%.

I would concede to this point if we were not talking about Drew Lock. Drew Lock came back to school to become the number one pick/first QB taken in the draft. The expectations made by him and the leadership of our program put this narrative in our head, not us.

With those expectations comes an expected realty that we have a quarterback who in 9 months will become the face of a struggling NFL franchise. To say we should not expect our QB to distribute the football in tight windows, to navigate a pocket against NFL talent, or to not make simple mistakes is asinine.

At minimum Drew should be placing 50/50 balls out there to our playmakers so they have some opportunities to make plays. Go look at Kam Scott's first TD against UT Martin or JJ's long 4th down grab over a defender early this year against Purdue. Those were balls that gave our guys chances against good coverage. We have not seen that at that same level in three games. Yes Hall can take the top off a defense, but we have seen in other games how talented we are at the skill position group. In three weeks a Heisman Candidate and number one pick should be able to elevate that talent after three weeks of knowing his number one receiver is gone.

History does not show that he will be better down the stretch. The knock against him is his performance vs power 5 teams, for all his 3.5 years of playing. We all thought this is the year he breaks through that and makes a Heisman run, but it hasn't happened.

Lock has struggled for sure but I believe he is personally taking too much heat. Before the season started everyone was excited about our offense and a big piece of that was due to Lock. A big portion of this is coaching (player development)

Fr. - Shouldn't have been starting but it is what it is. He had to with Mauk's issues. Plus, OLine problems.
So. - New OC. New offense. But... it was "gimmicky". He wasn't taught read progression and a balanced attack. It was all big play and tempo.
Jr. - More of the same. He wasn't being developed beyond the scheme in place.
Sr. - New OC. Again. New offense... similar but definitely a change. Probably for the better long term but not ideal for the Sr. with lots of pressure on him.

Most of this is deflection from the real issue. The inability to manage the talent that we have... and this isn't limited to the QB.
