Let's see; play a second season at Mizzou and maybe re injure the back vs. get paid millions to ride an NBA bench for a year while he continues to rehab.

As much as I hate it the kid should go to the show.

All those AAU and All Star games bring a toll.

The disc has probably been bulging for over a year. He battled back problems during AAU season. The herniated disc was probably pressing against the Sciatic, which explains the hip pain and him rubbing his outer knee during the ISU game.

Yep and they decided he should get it fixed in time for the draft

I think he’ll be back at Mizzou next year, just to prove to everyone that his back is fine, and he’s still the best player in the nation. Then he’ll go the following into the draft as the #1 player in the country. With the uncertainty of back surgery, I don’t think he would be the #1 player taken in this coming years draft, without some court time. Just my opinion.

If his back attendance s healthy, he would drop no further than 5th in the 2018 draft. Tim Duncan is probably he last guy projected to go that high, that stayed in college.

Maybe the Florida trio of Horford, Noah and Brewer could be looked at for guys that stayed in college more recently.

You might be right, but the kid seems like the type of kid that he’s either the best, or not. He expects to win championships. He’s done it in HS at 2 different schools. He wants to be considered the best. Thus, I think he comes back with a chip on his shoulder ready to prove that.

Just a hunch.

When he first sat on the bench, I started having Tony Mitchell flashbacks.

Kinda figured it was a disc issue. Him being seen for an MRI wrapped it up for me.

Had the same procedure done near the same area and the good news is I walked out of the hospital the same day and walked 5 miles the following day. Not that invasive of a procedure. What he has to be leery of is if he has any other bulging discs in the lower back. He gets too many of those snipped and he's talking fusion and his entire career is over at that point.

I think he'll be back shooting baskets and working out before the season is over but he'll never be game ready or rehabbed to actually play a game.

My guess is he’s sitting out so he doesn’t reinjure, and is gone.

So long MPJ, I’ll never forget that one bucket you scored on an easy putback.

Sucks.

Now we get to see if these guys can coach their way out of it.

At the end of the day we're still gonna be better than the last 3 years and I think more games than not, they will be fun to watch.

If Jontay actually slows it down a little. If Jontay and Harris matures just a bit. This can still be a really fun season.

Teams are going to play Tilmon tight and roast the guards. It's going to be ugly in conference play.

I guess I'll throw a bone in the "will he be back?" debate.

Another argument for him to come back is that he doesn't really need the money for his family as desperately as a lot of the other one and done players that come from impoverished families. We know for a fact one of his parents makes over 350k a year. It's not NBA caliber money, but they aren't exactly hurting for cash.

Robertson and Barnett just simply have to knock down shots. If they play like they did in the first two we'll be pretty good and have a chance to get in the tournament. If not, we won't. To a lesser extent CVL.

If I'm Zo, I'm running with this rotation right now.

Harris
Robertson
Barnett
Porter
Tilmon

Phillips backs up the 1.
CVL backs up the 2 (no more than 10 min a game)
Puryear backs up the 3/4
Nikko backs up the 4/5

I stick with that

I agree with that JQ. And there’s no way Barnett and Robertson continue to shoot that bad...both are pretty good players that would start for nearly all SEC teams outside of Kentucky.
