Durkin is a very good DC, elite even. You just have to be willing to deal with the baggage

A lot of coaches don’t kill kids. Hard no.

Unique skillset not every DC has.

Do you know the circumstances? Though not official it's believed the kid died from heat stroke. The University of Maryland was found to not be properly prepared to handle heat stroke issues.
Since 1996, 70 football players have died from exertional heat stroke (51 high school, 14 college, 2 professional, 2 organized youth, and 1 middle school).
The young man lived for two weeks after the incident.
I'm not sure you can put the blame entirely on Durkin.

Jesus frick, the dude who had the Maryland player death on his watch? Hope there’s no legs to that.

Don’t like it, but that’s college sports at the highest level. If you ain’t getting dirty, you ain’t tryin’.

Gary had a player die under his supervision. Not saying it’s forgivable or not. But it did happen

I know he had the players watch movies of animals eating animals, drills going into eyeballs and horror movies at breakfast to “motivate them.”
So yeah. He’s a psychopath.

I don't care if he shows up in a hockey mask with a chainsaw in his hands, as long as he can coach ball.

I asked about the circumstances on the kid he "killed" not how he motivated his team.
But thanks.
I guess we'll have to deal with a psycho DC if he's hired.

Is Drinkwitz still waiting for someone that is still not a sure safe bet to be retained? There will be more hiring and maybe leaving as well for HCs. You have to wait and see what he comes up with for his next DC hire.

Eagles reportedly fired demoted defensive coordinator Sean Desai. I do not know much about him, but he is available. This is what I am talking about: just wait and see what other options are out there. Might there be more DC being available when the NFL and college football HCs are done set to their current team and the DCs maybe be available.

Lefty may be onto something. If we wait long enough, the solution will present itself. I'd bet we could find us some coaches at media days in July, for instance. Patience young grasshoppers.

You cant wait that long. they need to hire before spring ball starts to implement the scheme. Unless we plan on promoting DJ, Drink needs to name a guy semi soon.

Tongue-in-cheek my man, tongue-in-cheek.

Mizzou needs to hire you as a consultant for their DC hire.

Wilks hired Baker at the beginning of January 2022 as a safties coach. Wilks left around the middle of January to take the Panthers job. Baker wasn’t promoted until late February.
I would rather Drink take his time and find the right fit.

I assume Durkin was waiting to see if he’d get another offer and we’ve now moved on.
That suits me fine.
There are some rumors about Grinch. Do not want.
