Not sure why he would leave, but perhaps the SEC and Memphis connection would be why

Well, he is a "co/DC with a defensive minded HC. So the chance to actually be in charge of a SEC defense that is top 25% should be attractive. Especially considering Drinks ability to address weaknesses very quickly.

This was from conversation I had last night. He's never been a smoke blower fwiw. It was more of a, This guy is worth watching kind of thing.
Not that it matters but Looper, Peoples and a few of our players are following him.
I was actually hoping to hear others here had heard his name mentioned.

What players exactly? No one that wasn’t already in the transfer portal can leave.
Incoming freshmen can’t leave unless we release them from their NLI.
And I don’t think portaled in guys can leave if they’ve already signed either.

The next portal opens from April 16 to April 30th. The last portal opening ended Jan 2. BK fired Matt House after Jan 2. So any players wanting to go with Blake Baker will have to go during the April 16 to April 30 window.
No one knows who the players are. I guess for the same reason none of us would (probably) tell their boss in January they are taking another job in April.
It will affect more than just us. There are predictions it will be a crazy spring and summer.

Only grad transfers. SEC still has rules. If you weren’t in by Jan 2, you can’t transfer to another SEC school. Even during the spring portal.
