Baker wasn’t the lead recruiter on the top 3 recruits this year. Baker helped, but Drink was the main recruiter for Nwarnei, Greco, Huff, and probably a few more. A few defensive players like Jaylen Brown were invited to a 7-on-7 camp and was offered after the camp.

DL coach Al Davis was the main recruiter for WR Crutchfield. If Davis left that’s the best recruit that we could potentially lose in the portal.

Burks
Hancock
McNeil
Roche

The best recruit Baker has had was L'Jarius Sneed at LA Tech. In 2016 Sneed was ranked as the 87th best recruit in Louisiana and a 80 composite.

Thank you I was getting ready for a kick in the crotch. The younger guys on defense made some good plays in the Cotton Bowl.

I'll take Leonhard for 1.5 million bucks.

(unless Lefty doesn't agree)

I think Drinkwitz is still interviewing coaches. Don't forget that coaches are still moving around by getting hired or fired at both the college level and the NFL.

Meanwhile LSU hired their defensive staff in 3 days. BAMA hired an HC in 24 hours.

Drink is notoriously slow.

Drink needs to make a decision. Fisch will be filling vacancies of his own.

Pretty sure he has his guy already. I don’t have any inside info.

Players and recruits can't jet yet, so as long as it's the right guy, I'm good.

It would be nice if he does already have his guy.

The only thing nicer would be if he announced it.

He doesn't have much choice and need to make sure not to screw it up. LSU did wait a long time to get to fire the defense coaches. I am not worried at all. Just let him do his thing. This is huge for Drinkwitz to get it right.

Most people don’t remember that Baker was hired in early January as safeties coach under Wilks. Wilks left for the Panthers in late January and Baker wasn’t hired as DC until late February.

In 2022 after Matt Rhule started the season 1-4 for the Panthers Wilks was named Interim HC and finished the season 6-6. He is now the DC for the 49ers. At some point he will probably get another HC job in the NFL

I had a feeling he would be interviewed. I asked for peoples opinion on him a week or two ago in another thread.

Durkin is a problem. When Maryland brought him back after suspension he had a large number of players walk out on him. Mizzou's biggest selling point seems to be culture. Bringing a guy in who workled a player to death and faced a mutiny of his team does not seem to be a good culture guy.
