Hugh freeze is my choice. Issues aside he built up a program that beat Alabama twice in two years. Give hime the money to get a hood DC and it has a fighters chance of working out.

Tony Elliott (Clemson) asked about South Carolina coaching vacancy

quote:

“You feel for Coach Muschamp," Elliott said during his availability. "That’s not a good situation for anybody. It’s been a crazy year. My heart goes out to the coaches and the players. This is the time of year where I get frustrated because my name gets thrown out there. I’m focusing on Clemson."

Freeze, Napier, Chadwell, or Beamer for me. I would love Joe Brady, but I don’t see him heading back to the college level after only one year in the NFL. He will continue to build his stock there and get an NFL job in the next few years, IMO. Panthers offense hasn’t been too bad.

I forgot to add

Mike Bobo.

I can already hear it from the Clemson fans.

If we hire Shane Beamer I'll never watch another down of Gamecock football.

My preference in order. 1) Freeze bc of the hype more than anything. 2) Chadwell. His offense would give us a scheme advantage that looks effective with lesser players. Hard to recruit like most of our neighbors. 3)Napier. Connections and a winner.

How are there only 7 posts?

1. Hugh Freeze,
2. Billy Napier,
3. Shawn Elliot.

You will get a good head coach with one of those, and they will be successful if they get a good staff.

Why not Beamer? Honestly... not my first choice, but I am not sure he just needs to be overlooked.

Two more names:

Sarkisian and Tom Allen. I think Allen is a long shot and a MW guy, but Sark has some legs to it.

Beamer has never been a DC or OC. If he's not qualified to be a coordinator, why is he qualified to be our head coach?

Because his daddy was a good head coach.

Guess what? Just because my Buddy's dad was a brain surgeon, doesn't mean I want them operating on me...

This. He was mediocre at Washington and got fired from Southern Cal for being a drunk. I don't want Sark anywhere near this program.
