The more I hear Napier didn’t go well the more I think it’s Beamer or Neal Brown.
Neither of which give me warm fuzzies. I’d be okay with Beamer but hell, we could do better. Ray needs canned.

Is there any more information about this interview? Napier just came back from having COVID last week. That must have been a strange time to interview for a major job.
I also keep seeing that Tanner’s real #1 target has been Matt Campbell, yet Napier’s team waxed ISU at the beginning of the season, and we’re just so quick to write Napier off? This is why Tanner is such a joke of an AD, and our BOT will never be serious about winning in football.
This search shouldn’t get past Napier, Freeze, or Chadwell, and here we are preparing to hire a journeyman assistant coach just to because some of our boosters/fans are feeling nostalgic for the good ole days.

Rumor is tanner is being cheap and Napier wants 5 million a year and a deep pool for assistants.
The two candidates that have been said to have good interviews so far have been Beamer and chadwell. Both carry risks to the AD.

If Tanner wants to make up for shitting the bed by hiring Muschamp, he’ll utilize this amazing fundraising prowess he supposedly possesses and secure the funds to pay the man. This is his mess. Make it an incentive-laden contract, I don’t care.
If we thought the national media laughing at us for hiring Muschamp was bad, just wait til we hire a TE coach over any of the obvious choices that are doing things like getting Gameday to their campus.

You’ve got the order all wrong and Sark is basically going to be Alabama’s version of Venables. Could he get a HC gig somewhere? Yeah. But why? Be paid better than 75% of the HCs in FBS and have a lot loss responsibility.
Like I said the order is and should be Chadwell, Freeze, then Napier. Beamer shouldn’t be considered at all. He has no HC experience, no OC/DC experience and he isn’t some top flight positional coach either.

Only reason Beamer has came up is all the 2010-13 players have backed him.
Chadwell is my first choice and will be until he says no. That is an innovative offensive mind that does more with less against teams who are more talented than his. Pair him with Luke Doty, MarShawn Lloyd, and Kevin Harris, and holy crap that’s a deadly offense because of the option concepts he runs... difference is he does have a big boy passing game added into his option attack. He’s taken what is half of an FBS roster and half of a FCS roster and took it to the top 10 with a QB nobody had ever heard of who looks like a star.

Out of 3 or 4 SOLID candidates (and I wouldn't say beamer is solid), that's that's the best we can do?
Look I don't hate the guy, but we don't need an untested commodity leading us right now. We need a Lou Holtz type coach. Someone who knows how to build a program, and build a culture. At this point I'd rather have Coastal's Coach than Beamer.
If we hire Beamer, start saving buyout money because we're going to have to spend it in 3 years.
