South Carolina likes to act like we’ve ponied up and invested heavily into our football program like everyone else, but it’s not really accurate

Why is that?

Muschamp chose not to have those analysts. Went on record as saying he thought there were too many cooks in the kitchen

Also beamers ability to rally the troops re: boosters/ BOT etc is pretty much the only reason he got the job. Went straight politician, played the game and won

Then it shouldn’t have been an issue that Napier asked for it upfront given our current predicament.

Had Hyman been interviewing Napier, he probably would’ve been like “You’re damn right, Billy.”

I’m very confused here

Did Ray actually have any day in this?

There are reports on this thread (and by the guy who said it would be Beamer) that Ray basically did nothing, and that he’s retiring at the end of this year

I don’t know about the retirement rumors, but Ray had more to do with this hire our insiders are leading on. The insiders have been behind Beamer from the get-go so making it appear that Ray had a minimal role in his selection would give off the impression that our BOT, Caslen, and all former athletes wanted Beamer when all was said and done.

They wanted to introduce Beamer earlier this week but he had COVID so they couldn’t. The second Napier interview was a total farce to make it seem like we were doing our due diligence.

Lance Thompson made it well-known in coaching circles that SC doesn’t have the booster support required to consistently compete in the top half of the SEC.

I just figured that meant we didn't pay for talent worth a damn.

Hopefully less than zero. SDS mentioned Lincoln's youner brother, Garrett, current OC at SMU, App St prior to that. With Beam working with Lincoln now, could make sense.

God help us if we retain Bobo the Clown...

Heck if it were up to me, we'd have left him in Lexington.

Some of the BBN group in Kentucky want Bobo there anyway. Would have been less the cost of a plane ticket back

They can have him and Carolina will throw in Collin Hill (who'll have a year of eligibility left) in for FREE!
