Atlanta Sports Guy. That douche is still acting like an insider

Funny how that guy looks and acts just like Dumbo.

The latest: Neal Brown is emerging as a strong candidate and will likely get an interview. In the past I stated that Freeze was ruled out, I can state right now that is not the case, he is being STRONGLY considered. Also Matt Campbell has been approached and will be pursued heavily down the stretch.

Can he coach like him?

preciate the info.

I suspect Bob Caslen is thinking
"it can also sink boats".
it will be interesting to hear what the 'behind the scenes' was like for the search process once Carolina hires its next football coach.

I get that we’re thin, but can we go ahead and fire Trob?

I think because we are waiting for Southern Miss to hire him
Why fire him when they can pay us to take him?

So is it looking like Beamer?
Posted on 11/29/20 at 11:04 am to I Bleed Garnet
Beamer has a good chance, however a final decision has not been made. Beamer has had the best PR throughout all this, so many articles and people trying to convince everyone that hiring Beamer is good or that a consensus has been reached. I am not one for conspiracy theories but the whole thing seems weird to me for a guy with no experience as a HC before.

Beamer should have been the choice over Muschamp last time.
He should be option 4 or 5, not number 1

I have a bad feeling passing on Chadwell is gonna be a bad idea in the long term

What if options 1-3 said no?

Beamer shouldn’t be considered at all. He’d honestly be worse than Monken.
Look the top three choices are Chadwell, Freeze and Napier in that order. Go through them, if they say no then call up Heupel. If he says no, then go back to the top 3 and add another 10-20% to your offer until one of them says yes. If it’s still a no then call up Bill Clark. If we can’t pry him away then we call up Norvell and see if wants to pull the chute from FSU or look at non Southeast candidates like Brohm, Brown, or Wilson. Then Monken.
Beamer is pointless and the only reason why his name is brought up here is because he was a decent ST coach a decade ago. Literally no other P5 program worth a shite is looking at him.

Here’s where I disagree with you. Let me say this first, he is not my first choice. He’s option 3 or 4 for me. My number one choice is Chadwell, and that’s well known. But Beamer does bring one thing that is helpful: he knows what to look for in a coach since he’s had his hand in all aspects on offense/defense outside of QB and he’s great with special teams and recruiting. Keep Shaw on as QB coach and I’d get behind it easy.
That being said, I want chadwell and the gogo option offense here with Doty, lloyd, and Harris.

I have a few problems with the Beamer hire, but the biggest problem I have with it is simple. There are better and more qualified candidates available. Period. You don't fire Muschamp and spend 14 million on a buy out to go out and hire a guy that "wants the job badly" Now is not the time to experiment.
Another large issue with Beamer is that he will always be reliant on hiring ELITE level coordinators to be successful. The CEO coach model works sometimes, but it keeps the pressure on the program to spend a ton of money on coordinators and hope it works every time.
Look at LSU. Yes they won a title last year, but the talent level was absolutely insane (historically good) and Ogeron had arguable the 2 top assistants in college football. (Aranda and Brady)
They lose both of them and he makes 1 bad hire (Pelini) and now look at what you have. A team in total disarray heading for a 3-7 season coming off a title. And bc Ogeron has never been a coordinator and doesn't possess the football acumen to outscheme other teams himself, the only answer he has is to try and hire new guys.
South Carolina needs a guy that when rubber meets the road can make it work regardless of coordinator, talent level, etc.
That's Freeze. Period. You have to make him say no. And if he does then go all in for Napier, Brown, Sarkisian, or Chadwell in that order.
If all of them say no, then Beamer.
