honestly it feels like over a decade since we took care of a team by 20+ in november. Frank may have made a final 4 but he always struggled with these teams.
I finally got to watch a game and breathe the whole time

Whether it be NIT or NCAA crappy performances in OCC definitely cost us some post season appearances under Martin.
2018/2019 and 2019/2020 bug me. We had winning conference records both of those years but just awful losses in OCC that kept us out of the postseason (I understand the 2020 post season was cancelled but we hadn't been selected anyway).

I think in the end the early season issues were what doomed Frank. He never really had a whole season where fans were excited. It was like why show up in novmeber/dec...youre just going to watch crap basketball.
Lamont will take his lumps this year, but he is bringing exciting basketball to columbia. It will take some time, but I am a fan

The Mens team plays tomorrow night at 9:30 in Charlotte against VT on the ACC Network.
VT was 19-15 last year, 10-2 out of conference. It should be a good early test for us

Gamecock men drop VT in Charlotte 79-77. They did that despite some awful officiating. That said, its a solid early season win

It’s hard to watch basketball these days. The level of ticky tack fouls that are called can be ridiculous and can change the dynamic of the game. Some refs allow almost no contact.

Damn these girls are fantastic. averaging 107 points vs ranked teams, and 33.5 point win margin. I get its only 2-0 but these girls are making top 15 games look like games vs D2 schools.
I think this is finally the team that Dawn has wanted to build. Good shooting, guard heavy

The Gamecock Men pick up their third win, this one vs VMI by 10 (74-64). Its been a while since both teams were 3-0

respect! Depaul is next up for the men before a week break, then Notre Dame. Win those two games and things are looking really good
The lady Gamecocks get a few easy games with Clemson next, followed by South Dakota State and then Mississippi Valley State (home of Jerry Rice and Deacon Jones)

Iowa lost last night to K State. That team is bad if Clark isnt shooting well.
I think the one "flaw" of our defense is defense, but I fully expect that by the end of the year we will be a damn good defensive team.
Its crazy to think that this team isnt just better than last years...its much better than last years.

Our first 4-0 start since the 2016-2017 Final Four team.
