Hope got a hold of me today. I looked at the schedule and told myself if we get past GCU, ND, Clemson we could start 13-0 going into conference play.
oh lord...
I was going to watch but the game must have started late. I checked at midnight and it hadnt started. I went to bed.

Gamecocks win 75-68 to win the tournament they were playing in.
The win over Grand Canyon could prove to be a really good one come tournament selection time. GCU was projected as the 12 seed, and favorite to win the WAC.
its easy to look at the name and think this win is no different than a win vs upstate, but this is very different.
Next up for the Gamecocks is Clemson. They should be our toughest OOC test. After that I expect us to be the favorites in the rest of our OOC schedule

The women beat SDSU, a tournament team, by 40 last night without our top 2 3 point shooters and I've seen people complaining because we didn't score 100 lol.

The women win again today against Mississippi Valley State 101-19. 19 is the least amount of points given up in the Dawn Staley era. 82 is also the largest margin of victory in Gamecock history.
The lady Gamecocks are still averaging over 100 with 502 points scored in 5 games.
This team is fun to watch, but the best part is they can still clean stuff up and be better. Layups and free throws specifically.
UNC and Duke up next.

It's not like Dawn can throw scrubs in when we get ahead because our team doesn't have any.

plus its about getting our younger players more game experience. If there was any team that Dawn wouldnt run it up on intentionally, it would be the HBCU

Also I wanted to note that Virginia Tech is or was playing pretty well in the ESPN invitational. A few teams we beat are playing well

Gamecocks defeat ND by 12. Final 65-53. Honestly could have been by a lot more. We forced ND into a lot of late shot clock possessions. Our offensive movement looked great even when the shots werent falling
A lot of things are a breath of fresh air with Lamont. Being able to watch a game and not see 50+ fouls, players who have actual talent, a coach that lets his players play, good shooters.
I will say, I expect at some point we will probably go through a rough stretch, but 6-0 is great. Get the next two and undefeated in the OOC looks possible

again we will take our lumps. We play both Clemson and Alabama. Now I was watching that game last night to try and jot down all the signs i saw. Both teams looked similar to us. Good defense and good offense with streaky shooting. Hopefully we can compete but those are both losable games. Those also are 2 games we can use to punch tickets to the tournamnet

Gamecock Men play George Washington tonight. It was a rough game for us last year, so a little revenge would be nice. Last tune up before Clemson

Dawn Staley and her birdies play tonight vs Duke! The last game wasnt our best, but it was a really good learning game for the youngins. Hopefully we come out tonight and blow the doors off the devils.

Gamecock women go into Cameron Indoor and win by 16. It was ugly at times, and the ladies have some stuff to work out but when it comes to crunch time they have been clutch. Chloe Kitts is really growing up, and Raven/Breezy are just clutch. Pao Pao has been an awesome addition and brings a calmness. I love this team.

Gamecock men play Clemson tonight. This game has tournament implications imo. So hopefully Lamont and the boys can get it done. If they can, then undefeated in OoC is possible.

tough tough tough loss for us.
That said Clemson is a legit team this year and we really had our chances to blow it open at points. Mack going 0-5 from 3 is so unlike him. I still think we are a tournament team
