Bad LSU loss last night. Feels like maybe we have played ourselves towards the outside looking in. Wins no longer matter, 10 years ago 21 wins and .500 in conference was good enough, now its probably not

It was stickied AFTER we lost 2 straight. I refuse to have that put on me.

The baseball thread got stickied after we went 3-0 this weekend..was that bad luck to?

The Gamecock men get a huge win against OM on the road to break the 2 game slide and move to 10-4 in conference play and 22-5 overall.

4 more conference games await before the SEC tournament. A&M this wenesday and UF on saturday.

Gamecock men get their 23rd win and move to 10-3 in games where they are the underdog. 11-4 overall. We either will be tied for second if Bama loses, or in third all by ourselves.

Based on total wins alone, this is the 6th best season in Gamecock basketball history with 3 games and the tourneys left to go

starting to get into rare air -

more than the W/L totals - I can't recall a season where Carolina held the lead with clock time as much as this team - ALA & AUB games the only two where USC didn't play with the lead for close to or over 30 minutes/game at any point -

were it not for the double-digit 2H leads that have slipped away in 3 of the 5 total losses - this season would be pushing McGuire's 1969-70 nationally ranked #3 team that went 14-0 in the ACC and played with an injured Roche in the CG v NCSU - and yes Bobby Cremins was absolutely fouled on a non-call at mid-court which led to the game winning bucket for NCSU in double OT -

hold your nose through some of this recap - as it's from the wolfpack perspective - but it gives a pretty vivid account of March 7 1970 -

I respect the recap, and its nice to see stuff like this put out. Tough loss for the boys and its purely because our best player wasnt 100%...something that has plagued Gamecock basketball in their best moments *cough Sindarius * . Ive heard of the magic of the 70 season so many times.

I was talking to dad the other day and told him that the golden part of the mcguire years seems like it was a long thing by the way he talks about it...but really only was a 3 or 4 year golden run. Puts into perspective how good Dawn has been to have a solid 10 year golden run.

I do wish more of y'all would write about the Mcguire years. If you all don't then those memories die with you all. I also wish we had more footage of those games. What I would do to sit down with dad and watch a 1969-70' game with him.

back to back regular season undefeated and barely a peep from the media .

One player is apparently more important. We have to finish it this year or else it will continue to get swept under the rug

A made a thread on it in more sports (because people hate women's sports on the sec board...unless its gymnastics or blowing Mulkey). I made sure to mention LSU winning the title last year because that wasn't the point, but wanted to highlight back to back undefeated regular seasons.

yall should check out the thread...its going about as expected, with most the comments coming from hillbillies that can't form full sentences.

It wasn't an attempt at a troll thread, but more of a "see what responses I get" type of thread.

Not the outcome we wanted last night, but at the same time I can't be disappointed in the season.

fwiw - Carolina can still get a 2 seed with these winners on Saturday -

USC beats MSU
KEN beats TEN
AUB beats UGA
FLA beats VAN
A&M beat MISS

...and then the unlikely happens -

ARK beats ALA
MIZ beats LSU

#2 Gamecocks would face the winner of 10 Ole Miss / 7 A&M at 7pm Friday -

if all the favored team wins Saturday - USC will be a 4 seed and play the winner of 5 Kentucky v 12 Arkansas/13 Vanderbilt at 330pm Friday -

if all the favored teams win Saturday except Tennessee - then Kentucky will vault to a 2 seed and USC falls to the 5 playing Thursday 330pm vs the winner of ARK/VAN - and would play 4 Auburn on Friday 330pm -

The elite freshman players for Kentucky are putting up huge offensive numbers but they are also allowing a lot of points. I think our physical defense may just get in their head just like last game.

I have a not-so-great for USC notion thatUK wins today - along with ALA/AUB/MS/UF/LSU ... and State -

Carolina gets a 5 seed and has to beat Arkansas/Vandy winner - with Auburn waiting at 4 in Nash -

the espn bracket nerd has State at 63 outta 68 in the last 4 byes group - MSU will be out for blood today too - hopefully we'll match their intensity and will today -
