I think most, including myself, didn't give enough credence to the injuries. Hopkins showed tonight just how big of a gap talent wise there is between him and the next man up.

We have undoubtedly become a woman’s school. Ladies’ teams are killing it.

Huge win today ... more than the sweep was the comeback.

I hope this lights a fire under this team because there are two tough series coming-up at Vandy and then Ole Miss. Just about have to win every series from here on out plus win a few in the tourney.

I just hope this announce team is never asked back...love kip but he is turrible. Bring back trey, and a todler would be a bstter play by play than whoever this fool is. ESPN/SECN reall fudged up a really good crew for this shite show. Not only did they consistantly get LSU names wrong but our guys as well, this is embarassing after havingvguys like andy demetra and mike morgan

impressive comeback win game 1 in Nash.

Shook/Demurias/S.Bridges ~~ no-hit VU and allowed just 1 base runner from the 4th inning on.

lo and behold - somehow these ornry Gamecocks sit just 2 games back of earning a #2 seed in Hoover after that ugly 1-5 start to league play.

This team would appear to finally be finding its stride ... you can see their confidence growing and they are beginning to trust one another finally.

Genius move by Kingston last night to put the stall-steal-on with Cortez on third. Proved to be the game winner and the players have to love the balls on that guy. A designed play that I don't think we've seen since 2011.

I was hoping we could take at least 1 of 3 from Vandy. Now, with a chance to win the series ... it would be huge. Gonna be really tough but if we can pull it off, carry over the momentum from last night into this afternoon, it would be huge.

Adam Hill ... on the hill today, so I like our chances.

One thing that is being overlooked is that we are playing some really good defense right now. Maybe the best of the season. We've seen more highlight plays in the field these past two weeks than the entire season prior.

Also, echoing others' thoughts, something we all agree on apparently, is that Cortez is the key to this team offensively. When he is on we are a far far better team.

Additionally, don't know if anyone else has noticed, but we've gotta like how this young pitching coach of ours is handling our staff right now. He may have left Logan in there too long last night but I think he wanted him to get it out of his system, have a bad outing, and move on. It happend pretty fast and he had to give Shook time to warm-up and get his head on straight.

Another thing. I thought we were horrible running the bases at times earlier in the season. These past couple of weeks we seem to be more confident running the bases, making fewer mistakes, putting more pressure on the defenses and making them make good throws and tags.

Keeping my fingers crossed that maybe we are starting to peak at just the right time. We're in a good position right now to move up in the RPI. We must finish the regular season at least 1 game above .500 because, if we do and given the RPI of our remaining opponents, we can move into the Top 35 RPI and all but ensure a regional bid somewhere with a chance to host a Super IF we were to win a regional somewhere in the Carolinas. UNC and NC State appear poised to host regionals with NC State maybe getting a national seed ... so we'll probably end-up in Raleigh. If UNC were to lose their regional and we were to win in Raleigh we could host a Super.

As it stands right now our immediate goal should be to try to overtake Georgia and finish #2 in the SEC East. If we can do that (we're 1 game behind them right now) then we get a first round bye in Hoover. If we can do that then it's game on.

First and foremost we need to get another win in Nashville, break into all six of the baseball polls, and keep the momentum going.

Well ... that didn't last long. Back to walking batters and making errors in the field.

Was it CNB who posted, "this team is bipolar?"

So true. Have never seen anything like it.

Still, I was hoping for at least 1-2 at Vandy. Now we need to take 2 of 3 from Mizzou, with a hope for a sweep. Take at least 1 of 2 from Ole Miss and then win the series at A&M and we're still in good shape for the post season.

Wouldn't hurt if Georgia would tank in the process as well ... and Vandy, but they're not going to because they're a really good team.

As Confucius used to say ... Ho Li Fuk.

I'm gonna claim that post above as a jinx I put on Vandy.

Just no words for that come back. That game looked entirely lost ... looked like there was absolutely no way we were coming back. Then we tie the game ... then they come back and score 3 more in the bottom of the 7th. But we still come back and win this thing?

Ho Li Fuk.

My 2nd oldest daughter lives up there these days ... her new husband has turned her into a UT fan dammit.

Thank gosh UT beat Georgia today.

Georgia has Mizzou, Florida and Arkansas remaining on their schedule.

We've got Ole Miss, Mizzou and A&M.

Two of our remaining series are at home.

Two of theirs, Mizzou and Florida, are on the road.

The odds would appear to be favoring us, slightly, for a move into second place in the East and a chance at a bye.

Baseball is a funny sport though.

Damn, whatta game tonight!

Huge win. Crowd was rockin'.

If we can just win this dang series our RPI will jump big time.

Let's hope Adam Hill is on tomorrow (or rather this afternoon now) and back to normal.

We jumped on'em early yesterday.

This team is gaining confidence daily. I mean Ole Miss' Friday and Saturday pitchers will both make the show and we beat them up like whoopin' butter.

Getting ready for today's game, will be leaving in about an hour or so for brunch at Thirsty Fellow. Longshot to pull of the sweep ... tough to sweep a team that hasn't swept, or been swept, all season.

Wish these home wins against the #4 team in the country helped our RPI more than they appear to be doing so far.

Wish I could be at Spirit tomorrow ...with all the obvious headlines about Holbrook - nobody in the media is even talking about the 'Storm' that is coming too... one of the most kickass Gamecock baseball coaches also returns - Toman - love that dude

No hard feelings for me about CH. A change was needed and it happened. I anticipate those in attendance will offer a nice ovation to Holbrook.

Ballgame is for a great cause with partial proceeds goin to the children's hospital.

Go Cocks!

Apparently some of our guys who played for him don't feel the same way that Holbrook said he did about being excited to see some of our players that he recruited and coached again. Hunter said, in regards to playing Holbrook and seeing him again, "It means nothing. It's just another game." And some of his teammates said they agreed with that.

I'm not generally a hater ... other than of sheephumping sister banging taterheads that like to leech around on the SECr ... but I'm having some hateful emotions about this frickin' baseball team right now.

Seriously thinking about giving away the series tickets for this weekend after they got rocked by Holbrook tonight. And I mean it could have been worse.

I seriously thought our guys and theirs were going to fight after their pitcher hit Tolbrook. There was also an article online by The State after the loss and Holbrook said Tanner has not actually spoken to him in person since he left and he didn't tonight, either. Holbrook said "the dust had to settle" before that happened. Our guys said it was just another game to them but apparently there were some emotions going on that may have affected how we played. No excuse for that shitstorm of an arse kicking we got from CoC tonight, tho.
