@RapSheet

If Urban Meyer decides to stay retired… Ohio St coach Ryan Day is a potential target, sources say.

Urban in the NFL? Dude wouldn’t make it a season without being hospitalized.

I do think if Day moved on he might take another shot with Ohio State. They’d be smart to push for it too because he’s a hell of a coach.

I could absolutely see Urban going back to OSU for 2-3 years

I think Urban still views himself as an Ohio State guy. Not sure if he’d do it but it wouldn’t shock me.

Yeah I think Urban thinks he's the Pontiff at OSU.

Urban might get the whole gang back together and hire Herman as OC

Urban Meyer quit the game twice due to health reasons. He loves the game but the grind of the season makes him so stressed he comes dangerously close to having a heart attack. As hard as coaching at the collegiate level is, it's nothing compared to the grind of being the head coach of a NFL franchise. He would die.

The NFL isn't as hands on as college is...with recruiting, trying to keep kids out of the transfer portal, etc.

You lose a lot more though. You ever see Urbs after a loss? It’s Like he needs a bottle of pills or a gun.

The tradeoff is that they have to work every week like it's the national championship game in college because even the Jets can win a game by accident from time to time and wreck someone's season. They get an actual offseason where there is no recruiting, no booster functions, no weekly radio appearance they are contractually obligated to do, etc., but NFL coaches basically live in their offices from September-February every year. I don't think Urban could handle that.

What the hell are you waiting on, Jags? Call this man on every hour night and day between now and January 11th.

I don’t think Urban parted ways with OSU on the best of terms. There was the friction with the AD/administration over his wife beating assistant coach and the whole fiasco surrounding that. Urban might think he could go back to C-bus but OSU might see it differently.

Theyd have people fighting for that job.

Matt Campbell, Luke Fickell. You take the number of coaches with Ohio roots and add in the coaches who see how easy it would be to win there with that loaded roster and you would have one heck of a list.

He is currently the asst AD there, there was no “parting ways” as he’s still in Columbus
