I bet they will postpone a decision for another week or so.

ADs have a series of meetings planned for this week and already said they will likely continue into the first week of August. I believe the presidents are having a call on July 29th as well. I’d expect an update at the end of this week with an initial plan. Then updates moving forward if anything changes from that

I want to know how teams will respond to a positive covid test. Didn’t Michigan State just quarantine the whole team?

They will kick the can down the road as far as they can.

It is very early but baseball has gotten off to a good start.

Hopefully this will push them to playing.

Yes, and they won't be the last. This season won't happen

Not sure about Michigan State, but Rutgers just did that.

What makes you think that, everything I've heard this past week has been positive.

You think they will watch there universities crumble financially based on a virus that hasnt hurt the first player in a life threatening way. .there have been all kinds of outbreaks ...lsu bama clemson Rutgers Michigan state. All of which were quarantined and have recovered to the point that practice is happening now as we speak ..

It makes sense, for a lot of reasons, to postpone the decision for as long as possible. Just about everyone wants to play, the colleges need for the games to be played, but if they had to make the decision today, it might well be a "no." Tomorrow might be better. We all really need for this season, whatever shape it ultimately takes, to happen.

OU and KU just scheduled games for week 0 against FCS opponents. Sounds like Big 12 will play 11 games. 9 conference plus 2. I don’t know what SEC will do. Possibly the same.

Yup. They are gonna keep kicking the can down the road as long as they can, hoping for a last minute Hail Mary of a treatment or vaccine to save Sankey's arse.

There are really two separate decisions to be made, but one is dependent upon the other.

1 -- is there a season at all? And if so, what does that season look like?

2 -- if games are being played, are fans in the stands? And if so, what "governs" this (in other words, will it be a state-by-state or school-by-school thing? Or will conferences seek to create some level of equality)

I can picture a season being played, at some point. I cannot see scenarios where 50,000 people are in stadiums, though.

This virus is about wrapped up. There will be a season, quite possibly even a full schedule.

Really?

Guess MLB canceled games aren't proof you're wrong.

I don't think you can postpone this decision
If you are opening up Labor Day weekend it has to be full go this week.
If not, then you push the season start date back which means you lose some games, most likely non conference.

SEC will play this fall, but may push back a couple weeks, month at most. First few games will have small fan numbers in stands, but will increase as season progresses. The players are healthy and already practicing, the show will happen. Do NOT believe Paul!

I think they start week 0 and build in a few bye weeks in case games have to get pushed back because of a case like the Marlins. My guess is a 10 game schedule either all conference or plus 1.
