I think it's way too early to put Chad Morris on the hot seat..He should be judged after he gets 'his' players filling up the roster. In fact, I think he'll show enough improvement to at least get the fan base realistically Happy about its future..we'll see.

Too early to call. We are slowly purging all of the Bert leftovers. Which is leaving us with very little depth. It’ll take a full 3-4 years of solid recruits to right the ship.

I thought Norvell was too shady for Arkansas or something like that. Something about coeds or gambling which is why you guys didnt hire him last time.

As much as I love Norvell at Memphis, I just dont think he has the chops to cut it at an SEC school yet. He's a great recruiter and has had some really good seasons here but hasnt really won the big games. No bowl wins, lost to UCF 4 times in 2 years (3 of those times Memphis had every chance in the world to win) and continues to make very questionable in game calls. Again, i think he is great for Memphis but i think this job might be his ceiling (just like Fuente, who from what i can tell is hated at VT).

The rumors were that Norvell had a thing for coeds and the Petrino episode was still recent history. I'm not convinced that Norvell would have done any better at turning things around than Chad has so far.

I'm willing to give Morris time to get players to run his system before looking for the next coach.

Arky will beat a Mississippi team and win 4-5 games total. They won't be replacing a coach until next season at the earliest.

No it wouldn't. Because Norvell is a proven coach. Chad is not.

He's been a head coach for 3 years. 8-5, 10-3, 8-6 and has never won a bowl game. I wouldn't mind having Norvell, but I don't get why people think he's a savior outside of the fact that he played at UCA and Arkys love their own.

We don't. I'd take Chad every day of the week over Gus. If for no other reason, we can fire Chad after 3 seasons. Politics would have kept Gus here for 10 years, which I think would have ironically followed the Houston Nutt timeline pretty closely.

The talk about Morris will change after we beat Ole Miss.

Hogs have to win that game. If not, there's going to be tumbleweed blowing across that RRS in week 3 against Colorado St through the remainder of the season.

I just read they're giving away close to 8,000 additional seats to season ticket holders in order to fill the stands for the opener against Portland St. That's pathetic.

I hate to say it because it hurts, but they are even giving away tickets to Portland St to adjunct faculty. I know because I was offered two for free and $20 each additional and I never even go on campus except for football games and occasionally for an orientation or something.

Big difference

What's the big difference, Chief?

Both coaches come from the same conference, have young tenures as HC, and want to run up tempo offenses. AR would have had the same QBs who can't cut it at WKU and SELA.
