Gatewood starts against Oregon.
Both plays some then they share time in our 2nd and 3rd games (both OOC). When we travel to TAM on the fourth game, it will be decide who is the starter

It’s not well-known, but Gatenix will be the starter against Oregon.

Both. A QB will have to distance themselves on their own in the season to earn the job. Gus can't make the decision. I really don't think he has any idea.

Gus is going to flip a coin to decide but he won't be able to find it after it lands.

Most likely scenario.

Knowing Gus I truly expect to see Cord Sandberg take the first snap

Nix. Gatewood is a tight end.

I’d bet $100 on Gatewood being the starter but Nix will play some throughout the year.
Gatewood is 6’6” and legit 235, he will run the power read which we haven’t done since Cam. A few others tried on occasion but it just didn’t work because lack of mobility and size. It will be effective because the speed outside will keep people honest from being too aggressive at stacking inside lanes. He is the arm to make all the throws but has a slower release than Nix. It will limit some of the usual WR screens and quick routes but will help with PA as well as down the field shots.
The good news is this year we need a game manager, the OL is MUCH improved and there are weapons all over. Seth Williams will become All SEC in a few years, Schwartz, Shivers, Matthews and Whitlow are all going to make a difference. Auburn will have its best defense in 15 years. That’s saying a lot coming off of back to back Top 15 defenses.

I read that we’ve been lining up Gatewood, Bo and Boobee in a straight T a lot.
