I suspect you just may see us again, and Alabama is not going to be very happy with Clemson.

God help Duke in that opener.

Virginia did have a good defense last year, but I don’t know if I would be bangin the drum over them beating South Carolina. Bottom line is that Alabama would love to replace LSU with UVA. Clemson would’ve likely beaten LSU. But the late season game would have been punishing and could have played into the injury factor.

Throw in the Notre Dame match up, and Clemson was prepping for us for a month and a half, maybe two.

Clemson was a good team, no doubt, but some things were in their favor too. Nonetheless, that’s how things go. It is what it is.

I suspect that Alabama and Clemson will see each other again this year, and that Alabama will take out some anger on Clemson.

Let Clemson finish their year with LSU on the road then Miss State with all those pros on that Defense. Auburn, UGA in a trophy game and then Oklahoma and let Bama play the cupcakes Clemson did.

A different team might be hoisting the trophy. Clemson might not have been there at all. I guarantee you CU wants no part of a schedule like that, they were lucky to get out of College Station alive.

Y'all have had some good discussion earlier, but now you are just doubling down on weak excuses. It's like your brains can't comprehend that Clemson was just better in the critical moments of that game.

Bama had a great team this last year, but you spent so much time getting puffed up by the national media as the best ever, it's impossible for y'all to concede you were not as good as little ole Clemson.

And you started out being a CivilRival fan, but you've become an a-hole. Boz has more patience than me, because I would have already banned you.

Well that is your perogative if y'all want to ban me for reasoned disagreement.

Two years ago you kicked our butts and had an extra week off and didn't have to play in your conference championship. Any Clemson fan who used that as an excuse for why we didn't win was making a weak excuse. This year the same thing applies to Bama fans.

You had a month off and whipped Oklahoma... You were relatively healthy and untested heading into the championship.

The two first times we played in the playoff you can argue that we had tougher opening draws than you did. It's just how it works sometimes.

You can't handle the truth. You don't want to hear facts. Clemson was the better team that day, OK?

But you are FOS if you believe you could have walked through the schedule Bama played as easily as you did that pack of cupcakes that you had. You had a BIG advantage the way things set up. And if it's us or whoever, you're going to have a massive advantage once again.

There's no way to know if you win them, but no way in Hades you don't get beat up playing who we did. We didn't, Tua got hurt.

Swap conferences, if you dare. Dabo would have a Grand Mal seizure if you tried to put him in the SEC West.

Dude, no one is making excuses for the loss. I certainly didn't, despite you accusing me of it.

The point is that the ACC currently sucks arse, and Bama fans expect to be in the playoffs every year and we expect Clemson to be there as well. Given that, Bama fans are tired of seeing Clemson get such an easy road to the playoffs. No, we're not saying it has been happening for a lot of years, but it damn sure happened last year, and I'd bet a lot of money it happens again in 2019.

Clemson had a distinct competitive advantage in 2018 due to your easy schedule, and it looks to continue into 2019. This is the point.

Despite it not being Clemson's fault, we want the playing field to be level, and it currently isn't. This is the discussion.

This is the discussion:

The girl thing is not an insult, but it is funny. It was the first good pic I got of the 2019 schedule, and I went with it.

Look at it. It's beyond pathetic.

THIS IS THE DISCUSSION - NOT THE GAME LAST YEAR IN WHICH CLEMSON WAS THE BETTER TEAM.

I forgot:

That schedule will be followed by an ACC "Championship" versus a 4- or 5-loss team.

That's fine. It sounded like excuse making to me, but I will take you at your word.

Look at the couple of years prior and Clemson's SOS was top 10-15 for a couple years.

Yes the ACC was down last year and this year. Yes our path is easier. We also haven't typically pulled some of the best recruits from GA, FL and NC because some of those kids only want to play in the SEC. We don't have the same conference revenue numbers. There are disadvantages to not being in the SEC.

Yes we have it easier in the ACC. Y'all are welcome to come join us. :)

Hopefully VT, Miami, and FSU get their heads out of their asses sooner rather than later. And Virginia is much improved over years past, as is Syracuse. Duke and NCSt are halfway respectable.

I think VT is primed to be much better. They had something like the youngest defensive 2-deep in modern football history last year. FSU still has talent (but no Oline, I guess). Miami has its own special hills to climb (fickle fanbase, small liberal arts school, need a passport to get to the stadium) but ought to be more competitive soon.

Yes, the ACC is arse, but maybe it'll be better sooner rather than later.

Honestly though, about the schedule gripe - no Bama fan would care one iota if we could stay healthy on defense. Two years ago it was OLB and ILB. Last year is was OLB and Corner.

As long as we don't hobble into January, no one will really care about Clemson's schedule.

Untested? WTF are you talking about. Last half of the season:

LSU
Mississippi State
cupcake
Auburn
Georgia
Oklahoma

Clemson's last half of season:

Louisville
Boston College
Duke
South Carolina
Pitt
Notre Dame

LOfrickingL - you guys literally had one tough game all year at A&M and you almost lost. Otherwise your schedule is a fricking joke.

Untested means you crushed your opponents... Bama didn't have a close game until the championship game. They played good teams, but they had a lot of blowouts.

We had a weak schedule, but we also blew out the two playoff opponents. I don't know what more you can do to leave no doubt you are the best team.

We got a test playing that bunch of pros on defense at Mississippi State, believe that. No matter what the scoreboard says that game was extremely physical. Just check out the NFL Draft. I would have loved to see CU play them, you'd have won big because of their offense but that D would have beat Pretty Boy all to hell.

Auburn played well for a half. UGA was a war. You don't just look at the scoreboard to gauge difficulty.

Speaking of the draft, take a look at projections for next year. That is coming at you and it ain't going to be happy.
