With the most recent ruling by NCAA on Danjel Purifoy, the only two players implicated in the FBI scandal will be eligible to play for Auburn in 2018-2019 season

Auburn's Danjel Purifoy will miss the first nine games of next season and then retain his full eligibility, per release.

IS this breaking news or something? Why is the time stamp that old?

I think the OP's intent was to share the Purifoy news, while also posting that Wiley was already cleared for those that didn't know.
In sure there will still be "season vacated" or "death penalty" posts regardless. This place just can't help itself.

It really doesn’t take much for a season to be vacated. The death penalty obviously isn’t happening.

Why would it be vacated? They never played.

Any chance Wiley goes pro?
If not, I really like our chances to compete for the SEC title next year.

Wiley, Purifoy and Heron will all likely look into it...IMO Wiley is the only one likely to go early and lately that doesn't seem as likely.

Pretty likely. Hopefully he gets a 2nd round grade and plays one more year.

NCAA punishes via investigation these days. Can’t ever make anything stick so these people sat out this year right? That’s the penalty

That would make sense. And then you remember you’re dealing with the NCAA.

Auburn chose to sit the players and the apply for reinstatement.
The NCAA will still investigate Auburn basketball, but it is likely they'll wait till the FBI investigation is done. Based on what we know Auburn should expect some penalties, but not anything that would cripple the program. More could certainly come out.

FBI BETTER NOT TAKE OUR SECOND ROUND NCAA BANNER

But I think you're right, the final NCAA ruling on Purifoy provides some closure in this whole mess. AU's Compliance handled this as well as they possibly could and more than likely saved AU from crippling sanctions down the road. I could see a yr or two of probation and maybe one scholly loss, but nothing really serious.
