450 ypg only good for 8th best in the conference. Just shows how much things have changed.

15 years ago that probably would have been good for 1st.
Defensive football is on the way out unfortunately. Chess is becoming checkers.

I don't know if it's quite this simple, but I saw a tweet yesterday along the lines, "add Big 12 teams, get Big 12 football". When we added A&M and Mizzou, everyone said they're going to have to learn how to play SEC football but it seems like the opposite is happening.

Defense will be back next year in the SEC, when all these awesome QBs are gone.

It sure seems like the offense has played a heck of a lot better since Lindsay took over at C. The running game in particular has improved tenfold since the moment Lindsay was inserted into the lineup. I hope he is the starter the rest of the season.

Our OL looked great and we will get to see how much they have improved next week against a very good DL at Arkansas. The defense looks outstanding and the line is really gelling it seems. Lots of pressure with our front four is nice to see. I think if we played today LSU may win but I like the progress and think it will be close come November.

It's starting to come together. Coach Saban's halftime interview was telling, in my opinion. He seemed pleased with the team. He saw the team was playing dominant football and, without the fumbles, we are up 30+ at the half over a well-coached, albeit undertalented, team.
Passing game could still use some work, but if Amari ever starts CATCHING 2/3 of the balls thrown his way, that will take care of itself.
Ball security is key, but the holes are there for our RBs to run through.
AJ is starting to get the time he needs to throw, and the PA is clicking again.
Defensively, we are getting more push, sacks, and TFLs than we have in the past few years, but I would be the first to admit that has something to do with level of competition.
Secondary is coming along, but it was never about talent with those guys. It was all about getting "trigger" time. I would really like to face a few more pass-heavy teams before LSU, but it is what it is.
Linebackers are beastly as always.
Special teams. Well, we haven't talked about them much, have we? In my mind that's always a good thing.
We win another NC this year.
It's fitting isn't it? Team of the past and present versus the team of the "future". Old money versus New. The Empire versus the Alliance.

True. Jones has been good and coverage units have been lights out

I could of sworn I saw a stat that Mandell is some where in the top 10 for net punting as well.
I think the Ole Miss game was a huge confidence booster for Cade.

i think this year is an anomaly. the offenses were just way more experienced than the defenses.

Bama special team could start defensively for a lot of teams.

Those third down numbers on offense surprise me. I thought they were much worse.
