I most certainly wanted Riley, but I am very happy with Kelly and I think that his deal was done weeks ago.

I mean individual posters have individual opinions. Unless you can find me a specific poster that loved Riley and hated Kelly and then completely posted the opposite after Kelly was hired, not sure what you think you've been seeing. There are still people posting about not liking Kelly and liking Riley more and vice versa. There are even posters still hung up on LSU not hiring Kiffin, Napier, or Aranda. In the history of never will you see LSU fans all on the same page about a coach, regardless of the sport.

Not to mention, you had two big name coaches for two big time programs. Of course you'll have LSU fans that were excited when they thought it was Riley and then were also excited when it ended up being Kelly. That doesn't mean they hated one or the other beforehand. I don't see why you think that's weird or anyone backtracking.

I think it is the fact that he is evading the rigors of the SEC. Makes him appear weak. These are traits that couldn't have been revealed before these two hires unfolded, changing the minds of many.

I wanted Riley. I wanted Meyer more so. Kelly will do and now has my full support.

I wanted Riley, but going to USC is something I view as a cowardly move. If he wants out of the SEC, then it makes sense that I’m glad we got someone else.

Why are feelings like that so hard to understand?
