He got here and went 12-1. 2 years later he was 6-4 and got blown out by BYU in the Boca bowl lol!

This guy is like a case of the herpes. Annoying as hell and just will not go away.

I don't know any UCF fans and was barely aware that the school existed until about 10 years ago, so maybe you are just uniquely delusional but do you really believe that UCF has a more prestigious football program than BYU?

Scott Frost was seen as a grand slam hire for Nebraska and Heupel was seen as a ho hum hire for UT. Their results, trajectory and buy in from their respective fanbases have been the exact opposite in terms of production. And that's with VOLS having a depleted roster and The impending NCAA sanctions hanging over their head.
Meanwhile Heupel is getting mentioned as SEC COY by multiple pundits and publications.
I remember the Missouri fans (Looking at you @JesusQuintana) making posts telling us how terrible the hire was on repeat. Then they get blown out and embarrassed at their house by Chum Lee and a rag tag roster.
Keep em coming

Why do you start a topic everyday, then never return to said topic. Troll in the AAC board.

Meanwhile Gus goes 6-3 and struggles with Tulane and you sing his praises

What ticked me off about our loss to Tennessee Saturday was how our defense performed.
I'm not an Xs and Os guy, I played baseball and basketball through high school. But as I understand it, Heupel's offense is in some ways a souped up version of what Leach runs. Uses the edges, nickel and dime passes quickly up the field.
What bothers me about that is we played Mississippi State the week prior. So if my premise is correct, the defense should have been more prepared than they looked. I've never seen such a lopsided TOP stat. We put up 600+ yds of offense, 42 pts, I think had the ball 38 min of the game, and still lost by 3.
I'll admit it, the Vols offense was impressive to watch. Just crisp and precise.

Meh...2020 was a write-off for most programs. COVID rules limited player availability and wrecked a lot of potentially good seasons. UCF had 10 players opted out of the season
As for UCF's losses: BYU finished 11-1 and ranked 11th...with a much richer football history than UCF. UCF came within 3 points of beating #8 Cincinnati (another program with a better history than UCF), and lost by 1 to Memphis. Their only bad regular season loss was by 12 to Tulsa...which wasn't a terrible program overall.
Malzahn (in a non-COVID impacted year at UCF) has been beaten by a 4-5 Louisville team and a 2-7 Navy team. They also lost to Cincinnati by 35 (their same margin of victory as their wins over Miami of Ohio and Murray State).

Against Kentucky, Mississippi State averaged 8.8 yards per pass...Tennessee averaged 15.8. Not yards per completion...yards per attempt. Mississippi State threw 39 passes and completed 36. Tennessee threw right at half as many passes, and only had 30 fewer passing yards. UT was going over the top whenever they could. MSU was nickle and diming.
On the other side of the field...I think this was Levis' longest completion of the day by about 25 yards.

Pretty obvious you're not an X's and O's guy. Leach's pass O is all about spacing, and exploiting it. They struggled greatly last year against zone D's. Now this year, with Rogers going the whole way they've played better, but they need an accurate QB to succeed against teams dropping back in zone. Tennessee's O is simple, we lineup quick to get matchups and we make teams pick what they want to give up. It helps having playmakers such as V Jones, Payton, and Tillman, but basically the defense doesn't have much time to disguise coverages. That and we run the ball, but more than that, make a point of running the ball better than MSU.
Also, you had the ball for over 46 minutes of game time.

He got that offense installed in 1 offseason somehow and has the players that are left playing decently. That makes me think they are being coached up to some degree - something UT hasn’t had in a while. It remains to be seen if he can recruit and also if he can adjust as the sec catches up to him.
