I was surprised to see this. Thought he would get another year.

I bet they reach out to Bill Obrien.

#LSU and Ed Orgeron have reached a separation agreement: He will not return in 2022 but expected to complete this season, sources tell @SINow.

Negotiations began last week before UF win.

It’s unprecedented in the sport - coach & school divorcing 21 months after winning it all.

He's been such a PR mess he made it easy for them.

Don't like the decision of letting him finish the season. How bad is the staff that there's no one experienced enough to be interim?

This also the same guy who helped twist the knife to replace Miles, so what could go wrong having him there while you go through a coaching search?

Sources: LSU coach Orgeron out at season's end (espn) -- Ed Orgeron and LSU have reached an agreement that he will not return as coach of the Tigers next season, sources told ESPN, confirming a report by Sports Illustrated. He is expected to finish out the remainder of the 2021 season.

If the players don't want to play for him and the coaches don't want to work for him, why let him finish out the season? This has the potential to turn into a complete fiasco. Hopefully it does.

Get Aranda back maybe. He’s doing well at Baylor

Can they afford him? Surely OM makes it worth his while to retain him

My first thought was Aranda too. Might be too early, but probably the direction they should go personality wise to change up from Ed O.

Napier also fits that bill...

Likely candidates: Franklin, Aranda, Tucker, Napier, Kiffin, Fickell

In the voice of Brer Rabbit:

"Please oh please don't take Bill O'Brien from us! Please! He's the best OC we've ever had! Don't take him and make us have to get someone else! Anything but that!"

Sage Ryan would be smart to transfer to Alabama

Tucker is a lowkey great hire IF they also give him the same or more money to hire assistants that he wanted from MSU. IIRC it was 6 million, which is a lot for a new coach(but apparently worth it).

I only think OBrien because of his past successes at Penn St and I think he has a good relationship with Arch Manning.

The honorable thing to do, would have been to let him at least work out his entire contract
