He would have been a great hire for them. So obviously they couldn't hire him

Idk about anyone else but I’m extremely impressed with his wins over Temple, Syracuse and Delaware.

He’s good. I don’t see him ever being elite, but he definitely could have gotten Tennessee on the right track and handed the keys off to a better coach willing to take them.

That's the funniest part. They instead chose a guy with no HC experience who everyone knew was Muschamp 2.0.

Greg Schiano was the collateral damage of a butthurt fan base who somehow convinced themselves John Gruden wanted to coach there. They created faux outrage because they were so disappointed in what they perceived to be their administration’s lack of ability to land Gruden.

In reality, they should have been upset at the “insiders” and media members who perpetuated the nonsense that Gruden was “the guy.”

That was one of the most pathetic, bizarre sequence of events I’ve ever seen surrounding a college football coaching search.

He had NOTHING to do with the Sandusky issues at PSU but, since he had been with the program Tennessee fans associated the two. I’m glad they did because they passed up on the only HC that could have turned the program around. The fans run that program and they do an awful job of it, thankfully.

Nobody ever says why he would be, or would have been a great hire for us, its always just what he did at Rutgers 15 years ago. Give me a fricking break. It was a terrible hire, exacerbated by the fact that they thought they had Mullen in the bag and when Kelly went to UCLA and Frost went to Nebraska, Florida took him away. All throughout the process they tried to assure us shite was handled, and it was the hire that was going to make or break us for the next 15 years and they just let the Gruden silliness build and build and build without ever saying anything. The fans were right to be frustrated because they did the same exact shite the search before. Y'all don't know shite about shite.

Who exactly has Rutgers played? I mean, come on.

And I happen to believe that Jersey people need to stay in Jersey.

Dude is a damn good coach. He may not have worked here but he is perfect for that type of school.

Rutgers is going to continue to improve. Give it another year - Schiano will have them in the top 25, two it might be the top 10.

Think I'm kidding? He had them as a NC contender last time he coached there. 'bout the time UT started sucking.
