Most overrated stat of all-time. He ran 56 td's in from 1 yard, basically. Fullback playing QB. Wooptiedoo.

A lot of good players already mentioned.. Adrian Peterson was already mentioned. Some other OU players:
Josh Heupel
Joe Washington
Greg Pruitt (1971) 1760 yards 9.0 ypc, there is no way Sullivan should have won over him.

Was Heupel even the best player on OU that season? He finished 27th in passer rating.

McCaffrey
Lol no. He was a running back that had 7 rushing tds and 3 of those were against northwestern, the worst run d in the country that year. I know he had 16 tds total and the all purpose yards but that's not near enough production for a non qb. Henry had a far better year than Mcwhitey.

Herschel was definitely robbed in 1980 but the culture said freshmen weren't even supposed to play, much less win awards.
As a Gamecock I will never agree with this

The fact that neither Archie, nor Peyton, nor Eli won the Heisman means the Heisman is shite.
Peyton deserved it.
Archie wasn’t even the best QB in the SEC when he played. Pat Sullivan and John Reaves were both better.

Darren McFadden finished 2nd place in 2006 and 2007.

The #1 person to not win the heisman and should have, would be Peyton Manning. Charles Woodson was a very good college football player, but Manning should have won the award. Those california voters did it for Woodson. Sounds familiar in today's political races as well.

Troy Davis, Iowa St.
At the time, he was I believe only the 3rd or 4th RB to rush for over 2000 yards ever... and he did it back to back, and on a fair to spare team, no less. Eddie George was good but Troy Davis should've won TWO Heismans. No question he was the best player in football those 2 years.
