Offense: B+ They did better than Rice, but still room for improvement.

WR- B. They cleaned up the drops this week. WR core played pretty well. Tyson morris keeps showing up to catch a deep ball each game. Need to find a way to get Treylon burks involved here and i'm not convinced we have found any other real downfield threats for SEC play.

RB- A. Damn we're deep here. got all the pieces of a complete run game and option game with KJ at the helm. it really paid off Saturday.

QB- C. KJ made bad reads early and we kicked FGs instead of scoring TDs. His stat line was weak but he's turning into a good game manager. he has the atheltic potential to be so much more though. if he can learn to be accurate and consistently hit WR in stride he could be All SEC. I'm excited to see the evolution here as there is a lot of potential that will show up more and more over the season.

OL- A. Well they opened up running lanes and Jefferson had time all night long. they played about as well as they could.

Defense: A
DB- A-: They left some guys open and quite frankly we're lucky that card kept drifting passes right when he threw deep cause there were some wide open guys last night behind our Dbs. however they didn't complete any of that and we got a coverage sack or two last night so pretty good night still.

LB- A+ Gosh, these guys were all over the place. i can't remember the last time we had LBs this good.

DL A My goodness how a year can change things. These guys are big and scary. They play pissed off, and work their asses off.

ST B- But only by sheer dumb luck. we fumbled a punt and blocked one. Hit all our FGs and lots of touchback. all the extra points went in and no shanked punts.

Koolaid view: boy with our defense and QB we sure look a lot like that cam newton auburn team early in the season. I remember cam learning the game and getting much better as the year goes along. if KJ progresses as the year goes along watch out.

Realistic view: I feel pretty confident that we are gonna make a bowl this year. That's a big exciting change. State, aTm, Ole Miss,Mizzou, LSU all seem beatable after last night.

Pretty much agree. KJ has to keep getting better. I think we will give him more downfield opportunities when we’re in games that call for it. That seems to be his strength

If he figures out how to see the numbers game a little bit he has the arm and mobility to be stupid good in this offense.

I agree, I think KJ has the potential to be an all star. I’m confident he will get better and better as the season progresses

The good news is KJ already has the more important aspects down. Leadership, intangibles, and a team/staff that believe in him.

Adding a bit more air on his slants, baiting a safety, and progressing through his reads faster are much easier to correct than the points above.

In the presser today someone asked Pitt what's it going to take for us to pass the ball more and Pitt said "Not averaging 7 yards a carry. If we're averaging 7 yards a carry I'm never gonna throw it"

Good review. I’d add that our WR block downfield better than any group we’ve ever had. Go back and watch a replay focusing on just that and you’ll see why we ran for 300+ with any back we could get in the game.

But for real though. I wouldn't out the ball in the air either.

Their run defense is shite and our rushing attack is, uh, not

We should definitely win, especially at home

Careful Sam, that thinking got Hatfield and Nutt run off.

the old joke about Hatfield was he was always late while driving because he wouldn't pass.

The downfield blocking by the WRs was incredible. I don’t think we have a bunch of divas there. If we aren’t passing, they’re blocking and they seem to enjoy it, or at least embrace it.

Malik is the most electric player I've seen since DMac. He needs the ball more.... Much more.

Just watched a full replay for the second time, and I just came to say that I LOVE our RBs. Hot damn they're all fricking amazing.

A+ there

To be fair he followed that up with "if we're only getting 2 yards a carry we may light it up (the passing game)

Hogs played well overall. The DL and LBs have been great.

My concern is the Texas WRs exploiting our DBs who were cheating up in the run game and got beat deep multiple times, their QB just missed open receivers. Gotta get that shored up.

As far as offense, we looked like crap the first 10mins of the game. Players just seemed to be going through the motions, but maybe that was just KJ making bad reads. Would also like to see the passing game pick up a little. But its hard to do that when our RBs are straight fire.
