Out of that list it should only be Alabama and Ohio State. LSU is now a blue blood with their body of work since 2000. Blue bloods need 20 years to cycle in or out, Nebraska was a huge blue blood but had not been relevant for a long time since back to back titles in 94-95.

Notre Dame lol, them boys are like Democrats to CNN anchors. They have 1 shitty AP title in 1988. They are not a blue blood, just a media darling. Miami was also a dominant team in the 80-90's with 3 titles in the 80's but their last was 2001.

National titles BCS and Now CF Playoffs since 2000.

Alabama- 6
LSU- 3
Clemson- 2
Florida- 2
Ohio State- 2
Oklahoma- 1
Auburn- 1
Florida State- 1
Texas- 1
USC- 1
Miami- 1

Just limiting my answer to football we know Bama for sure. After that I guess it depends on how far you go back. If you wanna just start from 1990 till today then I think you can make a case for UF. If Tennessee hadn’t stopped playing football and could at least made it respectable the past 15 or 20 years then they could get in the conversation. But they do not have the record over that time period to put them in the conversation. They are doing good just to get bowl eligible these days it seems.

Miami won titles in '83, '87, '89, '91, and '01. That's impressive to win titles in 3 consecutive decades. They also ostenibly played for the natty in '85 (smoked by UTenn), '86 (lost to PSU), '92 (Bama did the CFB world a big favor), and '02 (lost to tOSU).

When a team has been down for a while it's easy to forget how great they once were. No idea if someone wants to deem them a "blue blood" but pointing out just how good they were then. Over 20 seasons, they won 5 nattys and played for 4 others.

Alabama will instantly become the top-dog in the SEC East and LSU will quickly become the top-dog in the SEC West.

Moreover, players love to play for the top dogs. Thus, as long as Ed O remains at LSU, he will bring home the best of the best top recruits. Same for Nick Saban in the SEC East.

Furthermore, LSU and Alabama will still continue to play on an annual basis, but on a neutral field for the SEC Championship.

Lastly, once the College Football Playoffs expand to 12 teams, then LSU and Alabama will both be in the College Football Playoffs every year.

Indeed, as an LSU fan, I like this new expansion of the SEC very much. Thank you OU and Texas.

The only fan base I've seen in this conference that rivals our basketball passion is Alabama Football. Not trying to be arrogant, it's just a statement of fact.

We filled Ford Field in Detroit with 78,129 for a game with Michigan State, setting the all time attendance record for a basketball of any type, anywhere, ever.

The 1948 US Olympic Basketball team, who won gold, was Kentucky's roster.

People give us shite for being the basketball school in the SEC, it's always lost on everyone that we'd be Top 3 or 4 in football attendance in every other conference. We're in the Top 30 every year. We put more butts in seats than several power programs yet people act like we're Vandy when it comes to football support. And that's total bullshite. We do better than 3/4 of D1, but because we do better than everyone, literally, at filling a basketball arena, folks act like no one here cares about football.

If anything the fact that we are perennially between 20th-30th nationally in football attendance with the results we have had should speak volumes about just how much we do care about football.

/drunk rant.

Kentucky = blue blood
Alabama = blue blood

That's it for this conference

It wouldn’t surprise me to find out Kentucky fans actually like football and go to games. Every SEC team pretty much is like that. Southern folks just go ape shite for football for some reason. Every school in the SEC pretty much sells out every week for football games. I have seen some Vandy games that the stadium was kinda empty. You folks in Kentucky though should get an award or something. Y’all have showed up to watch a lot of bad ball teams get very few wins over the years. If the football gods are gonna bless any fan base with a surprise season where their team makes a serious run at a championship I think you Kentucky fans are probably the fan base that deserves a season like that the most. Y’all have certainly paid your dues and are due a title run anyway.

Thank you. I feel like we are are Chicago Cubs or Cleveland Browns of this conference as far as support goes for our football team. Yes, we love our basketball team. North Carolina may be who we consider our only peer, but our fandom and fanaticism is absolutely as insane and rabid as Alabama fans are about Tide football. But if we didn't have that, and supported football the same way we do now, we'd be viewed entirely differently.

South Carolina gets alot of credit for supporting the Cocks through thick and thin (and they should, if any fan base understands what I'm saying about football fandom level v results on the field, it's them.) I just get tired of being written off because of the basketball. We love both.

Alabama doesn't get enough credit for their basketball or baseball history. Most SEC baseball titles I believe, and 2nd or 3rd most basketball?

Yeah Bama is historically a little better at BBall than given credit for. When Whimp Sanderson was there Bama was very good at Basketball. Seems they were in the Sweet Sixteen regularly. It’s because though they never went on and won a title. It seems like when you are really really good at one sport people only look at that one sport to judge you by. I guess it’s a lot like when people see a pretty girl and automatically assume that she is dating someone. So she never gets asked out. When you have a really pretty football or Basketball program nobody ever looks at the other sports lol.

Absolutely true . For whatever reason I think we might be the only fanbase that doesn't hate Alabama. CM Newton, Bear Bryant, Bill Curry, Shaun Alexander, Demarcus Cousins, Eric Bledsoe...hell I work with Jedrick Wills aunt. Auburn and Louisville with their perpetual little brother syndrome. We just have a lot in common. For whatever reason we just don't begrudge Bama by and large.

Y’all may be the only team that don’t lol. I get what you are saying though. Kentucky has took a beating in football pretty much my whole life. But seems like Stoops has got that place rolling the right direction the past few years. It seems like it just went unnoticed though. Was it last year that UK played Florida and totally got screwed out of that game? Seems UK had another game last year that they got done wrong in too. I just wonder if Kentucky had won those games if that would not have pushed them into a real special season. If UK can ever get a break in games like that Florida game that can really change the way folks look at them in football. Seems Kentucky needs a win like that to move to the next level. If they can ever catch a break then they might can grow and then start competing with UF and UGA every year in football for the SEC East.

Holy shite. If you use that definition and don’t include Michigan in your list, you’re beyond help.

Well, this isn't correct. If you use your definition then you have to add Michigan and probably Texas and Nebraska.
