Indiana Jones

Is a dude. I'm not sure how you make the character female going forward and still call it "Indiana Jones".

They already have a female version of this as has already been pointed out. Lara Croft is a female version of Indiana Jones.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge

Ok i get it she was in "flea-bag" and i guess it was good, i haven't seen it. But why is her name being dropped for every freaking gender swap project? I see her name way too often lately. Is She the female Michel B Jordan?

the people here re-elected him. It made me sick! Then after he proclaimed it himself using the word "referendum" that he has done a great job so he proceeded to lock us down again.

Inslee he's been laying low since the recall fired up in CA, there were rumblings here of one for him. Once Newsome wins, he'll go full retard again knowing he's safe.

And Newsome will win with ease. CA is lost, he's still above 50% approval rating. Once he so altruistically gave them an inch of their freedom back, the calls for his ouster got a lot quitter. It's just the Republicans now who want him out and there aren't enough left in CA to kick him out. No cheating needed unfortunately.
Their plan is to use OSHA and other Gov entities to fine companies who do not comply. Their proposal said $14,000 per infraction per day. So most companies can't swing that kind of burden. It's not that easy to just say frick off for most businesses.

Is it legal? Very doubtful. They have to actually release the "mandate" in order for it to be legally scrutinized. It will be challenged by a whole host of people, organizations, and State DA's and it's very doubtful it can hold up.

The reason they haven't released anything tangible other than the potatoes ramblings is they know it won't hold up. But it will get Afghanistan off the front page and off message boards, and it'll give left leaning companies a pass to push mandates claiming they are getting ahead of the Fed mandate.

Damon Wayans is really underrated.

He and Keenan are by far the most talented of the Wayans family.

What's the meat up it?

Well that's at the heart of the problem. If they had kept the meat out of it they wouldn't need the abortion.

Does he think his fetus is gonna catch Covid?

I have a feeling Covid is going to be the least of that kids problems in the future.

I do, though. Wonder if they do go down the route of making 2 versions of the film

It'll be interesting to see what Hollywood does with this. But i can't see them going this route. They need those Chinese Yuan to line their pockets and making 2 films would drastically cut into their take. So the question will be what do they consider more important their wokness or their greed.

I forgot how good this movie was.

I watched it recently and it still cracks me up.
one of the all time quotable movies, i still quote it all the time.

Disney allowing this lawsuit to go public still blows my mind, especially in this era.

It's impossible for studios to keep this sort of thing under wraps anymore. The world of social media ensures that this stuff will get out. Even if Disney could have kept Johansson from going public, some legal clerk or someone else would leak it for likes.

Disney has to face the facts that they are in a lose lose position now. They either pony up the cash or lose big name directors and actors.

I actually don’t think we keep re-electing them again and and again and again.

You serious Clark?

Incumbents win 98% of the time. The average is 4 terms in the house and 2 in the senate. The worst and often the dumbest members have the longest terms.

70 members of the House have been there over 20 years,
16 Senators with over 20 years.

Saudi Arabia

That goes without saying they are the root of 1/2 the problems in the ME with Iran being the other 1/2.

Pakistan is just a bitch like Afghanistan. They aren't a power player.

But the Taliban think they are starting their caliphate from Afghanistan.
quote:

Members of the Taliban are pulled from the same inbred pool.

Not exactly. Even if they are swimming in that pool they at least took the ones in the deep end.

quote:

This is a frick up and cant be laid at the feet of the Afghan army.

Laid at their feet no. But they are absolutely part of the problem and always have been. They are absolutely responsible for how quickly the Taliban took back control.

President Potato owns this.

Yes he does. But that doesn't absolve the AA, it just strengthens the reason why the Potato was such a frick up. It was well known how incapable, unprepared, and shitty the AA was.
quote:

Iran, Paki, Russia and China can now do whatever they want there.

Not really i mean they'll have their hands in things. But Russia already tried messing around in Afghanistan. China will make a play and be pretty successful, Paki won't really do much, and Iran will mettle in Proxies if it suites them. But they don't really have any interest in the sheep humpers. We weren't what was preventing the second coming. I'm pretty sure even Jesus doesn't give a crap about Afghanistan.
quote:

that’s hard to hear because there is no answer except
To let prophesy be fulfilled and accept that it gets real bad before Christ comes.

I mean not really. ISIS was supposed to be the Caliphate that was going to bring about the end of days. But it just brought about their end of days.

The Taliban aren't that great of fighters, especially off their home turf. They're just better than the scrubs that got conscripted into the Afghan Army. I don't think it requires the second coming to put them in their place.
quote:

The question I ask is why are they so bad, but their own countrymen and adversaries are not?

Because they are a tribalistic people, they aren't nationalistic. They don't understand "Afghanistan" They understand their tribe or their region. They don't want to fight for a country they don't understand.

The Taliban has gathered all the best fighters who see Islam dominating the world. They don't care about Afghanistan either, they want to spread Islam around the globe. Afghanistan is just their launching point.
quote:

I'm pretty sure the late-first and early-second century Christians would have disagreed with you had they lived to see the fourth and fifth centuries. St. John the Evangelist's entire Apocalypse (aka Revelation) was likely centered on the promise of the Fall of the Roman Empire and the rise of Christianity.

But Rome didn't fall, it adopted Christianity and rolled right on. Rome adopted Christianity in 307 and the West didn't fall for another 170 years. The East rolled on until 1453.

There have been plenty of "Christian" empires that rose and fell since Rome. The Holy Roman empire, Spain, France (twice), Austria-Hungarian empire, Prussian, British Empire, etc. The map is littered with crumbled states and changed governments many devolved into anarchy, murder and chose.
quote:

Evil WILL NOT win over GOD,

What does God have to do with world governments and their collapse? Empires and governments have crumbled throughout history with little Devine intervention.
quote:

By your standards any successful actor is there because of luck.

Yes 100% of successful actors are there because of luck. There are thousands of talented actors waiting tables and washing cars right now. They call it getting their "Big Break" for a reason.

quote:

discount talent, intelligence, and appearance,

Those can all be discounted in a successful actors career. Some are talentless but still successful, some are down right ignorant, and some have made careers on being unattractive.

quote:

how is every successful actor not "One of the luckiest people to ever walk the face of the earth"

They are.

They're rich and famous usually for pretending to be average people.

quote:

supporting certain sides via proxy

You do realize that is how we got here in the first place right?

We supported Saddam against Iran; We funded, trained and equipped Osama and the Afghans against the Russians; We actually assisted ISIS against Assad. We have a pretty poor track record of supporting the wrong people by proxy. The list of backing the wrong horse goes further back if you care to dig.

1. Black Widow lawsuit
2. BW appearing to underperform

Lawsuit won't come to much. And i think fans really didn't care about BW as many have said it should have been a phase 3 movie. The character is already dead and wasn't that interesting to begin with.

quote:

3. Appears to be no release of BW, Shang Chi, and The Eternals in China

Mid-major releases and I'm not sure China's market is really open enough for them to spend the money.

Is this the start of Marvel fatigue or is it just a hiccup?

I lost real interest the MCU after End Game. Now i might watch some of the properties, but i don't care about the continuity anymore. But i think this is really just a Covid hiccup. The MCU is still going to print money for the foreseeable future. But i do thing their popularity is waning.

quote:

but the MCU is looking more and more DC at the moment

I don't think it's that bad, but they aren't batting 1000 anymore, but they aren't whiffing on as many pitches as DC has.
