Actually he said more players were gonna get injured, cried about it, got a rule change and then now uses hurry up no huddle.
I guess when he’s winning players don’t get hurt.
ETA: Pate is right here. Alabama will sign 50 players every year and take the top transfers and nobody can do anything about it.

I believe he very vaguely talked about that one time, and it was specifically in relation to players on defense not being allowed to get set when the other team sprinted to the line with the specific intention of running a play while the defense was still trying to get back into position. We don't do that.

Never got a rule change

We do not use a hurry up no huddle. We were
- 75th in offensive plays per game in 2020
- 113th in offensive plays per game in 2019
- 87th in offensive plays per game in 2018.

And Saban told everyone that would happen and it wasn't a good idea and they did it anyway specifically thinking it would hurt programs like his and help other programs. So, yep. Sorry not sorry.

his ability to adapt led to the 55 he put up in bryant-denny west last year.

Saban was absolutely correct about this

No my good sir, it's called adapting and overcoming.. Be careful what you wish for... Gus and his revolutionary offense for him fired and the bane of the Auburn's existence... The GOAT adapted and is kicking the HUNH crowd with your own medicine along with being EXTREMELY balanced to go along with his VASTLY superior talent...
That said, enjoy your arse kickings... You'll be receiving many of them for the foreseeable future.

No. He was whining about head trauma. Then Gus pointed out putting everyone in the box and pounding a RB in there was more dangerous. His fat buddy at Arky tried to back him. He then complained about Run/Pass option. He then combined about HUNH. He was also trying to lobby rule changes to stop those issues.

His argument was always about players being more susceptible to injury when they are tired (and can't be subbed) or when they aren't ready at the snap.
Bilema is the one who argued about head injuries and a litany of other things
Yep, sure did. Said it wasn't fair to the defense if officials weren't going to call linemen downfield. Everyone else in CFB laughed at him and said he couldn't adapt and was being an old man that was being left behind.
So he just said alright, stole the RPO and then ran it better than anybody else in the country. Now Hugh and Gus are at mid majors and Saban has the best offense in the country over the last 3 seasons.

I think that the way people are going no-huddle right now, that at some point in time, we should look at how fast we allow the game to go in terms of player safety. The team gets in the same formation group, you can't substitute defensive players, you go on a 14-, 16-, 18-play drive and they're snapping the ball as fast as you can go and you look out there and all your players are walking around and can't even get lined up. That's when guys have a much greater chance of getting hurt when they're not ready to play.

It’s Unfair!
And very misleading.
He wanted the rules changed to protect his defense.
Do you really think he gave a shite about anybody else?
He was forced to change, and he always does.
If he really cares about Unfairness or the game changing...
Will he admit that cheating and paying college football players under the table should end?

Why LSU wouldn’t listen anyway.
