Can someone go into the intricacies of why they refuse to play each other in FB? I’m sure both teams blame the other for not playing.

100 pages minimum.
Number of posts by fans of neither school will equal 3x that of the combined total of both.

“I heard you don’t wanna play me so I don’t wanna play YOU!”
One great rivalry gone because two schools can’t sack up and play each other.
If they had their heads on straight, they’d meet in a bowl game every year. I’d rather watch an 10-2 aggy vs a 6-6 horn ( or vice versa) than aggy play some ACC school while horn plays a big 10 school.
I feel the same way about Mizz-Kansas and other rivalries we don’t get to see.

I'll keep it real simple.
We left. They got pissed and refused to continue it when we offered to.
Some time passed and there have been rumors of the game potentially restarting with tu having more interest than A&M.
Realistically, both schools are a ton of OOC games scheduled for years and years to come.
If it were to happen, it's likely not starting for another 7-10 years. That's if they start planning it now.

It’s not that Texas is afraid to play Texas A&M. OK, maybe that’s exactly it because the Longhorns wouldn’t be that petty, would they?

That said, I always enjoyed watching that rivalry
Y’all kiss up or make out or whatever you Texans do with each other and play the damn game.

Instead of bloviating from both sides why not read what CBS Sports News says:
How long will it be before the Aggies and Longhorns play again? (USATSI)
Attention Longhorns and Aggies fans hoping Texas and Texas A&M can overcome their recent hostilities and renew their 118-year-old rivalry series on the gridiron: We've got good news and bad news.
The good: Never-soft-spoken Texas athletic director Deloss Dodds told the Daily Texan Tuesday that he believed -- that he was "sure" -- the two teams would eventually play each other again, despite A&M's move to the SEC and the Longhorns' commitment to the Big 12.
"I think we'll play sometime," Dodds said. "I don't know when it will happen or how it will happen, but I'm sure it will happen."
The bad: Dodds' comments about the terms under which the rivalry would be renewed won't exactly help smooth over relations with the powers that be in College Station.
“They're the ones that decided not to play us," he said. "We get to decide when we play again. I think that's fair. If you did a survey of our fans about playing A&M, they don't want to. It's overwhelming. I know. I hear it."
Aggie fans would respond, of course, that it's their program that has consistently said it would be happy to continue playing the Longhorns as a nonconference series after their move to the SEC, and that it's Dodds and Texas who discontinued it in response to A&M leaving the Big 12. Longhorn fans, in turn, would argue that if A&M really wanted to continue playing Texas, it wouldn't have left the Big 12 in the first place.
In the end, it's a matter of he-said-he-said, and the rivalry won't be renewed solely on Texas's terms or Texas A&M's. It's going to take a concerted effort on both sides -- and probably another few years between fans, administrators and others after the acrimony caused by the conference split -- to get the Longhorns and Aggies in the same stadium again.
Dodds can say he expects the rivalry to continue. But until the finger-pointing stops -- and it doesn't matter whether the finger-pointing is deserved or isn't -- the series won't be renewed.
In other words our School President said "Any place any where any time."
Texas says the sips will make the call. Ball has and always has been in sippy's corner. ie They scared.

Aggies have had their asses handed to them in the rivalry, and the SEC membership allows them to have a safe place. They could go 0-8 in conference play and wouldn’t care because they don’t have to play Texas.

There are no intricacies. Tamu was always 3rd most important on the schedule for decades for UT. Once Arkansas bolted I'd call them 2b or 3a. Freaking afterthought.
They're an also ran for 100 years and continue their turdition. Will try and grab coattails as they can. Smack them on their arse and kick 'em like a dumb dog.
When was the last time aggy had back to back conference winning seasons in football?

These threads are such a shite show. A&M has been in the SEC for almost ten years now. We’ve fielded competitive teams in every sport and won the league at least once in nearly every sport. We’ve had some shite teams and some good teams - just like everyone else.
Texas A&M has acclimated perfectly. We’ve always viewed ourselves as a Southern School, and have had deep ties to other SEC Land Grant universities. We were the natural fit. Everyone sees and knows this.
But the tu fans will never admit this, and neither will their enablers: the LSU sidewalk fans. Most LSU alums remember the long athletic association TAMU has had with LSU. The sidewalk LSU fans further the falsity that both OU and tu are more “Southern” than TAMU is. It is laughable to read how certain LSU fans would rather play OU and tu every year than A&M, never mind that LSU has no history with either school, but yet LSU has played A&M more than they have played several founding SEC school.
The tu fans over here, well...? What can I say? Maybe someday your wet dream of joining the PAC will come true. Then you can be with the schools you are more alike, most notably Cal-Berkeley.
