More likely to bust: Justin Fields or Mac Jones?

I’m torn on this one.

Fields, he's a total boom or bust guy. Even if Mac isn't a successful starter, he'll be a long-time backup/bridge QB.

Fields and it’s not even close, he’s got Haskins written all over him.

Jones has a totally superior football intellect to Fields. The only advantage Fields has is his ability to bring it down and run. The smart QB will come out on top 90% of the time.

I put fields at about 90 percent of being a busy while mac is probably closer to 85 percent.

I’ll go with the guy who did well in big games instead of the guy who did poorly in them.

Jones easily. He’s a stiff unathletic statue.

This seems accurate. If I had to bet on one winning a league MVP I would probably take Fields. If I had to bet on one still being in the league in ten years I would pick Mac.
SF is a pretty good situation for an early pick QB. Likely, whichever one SF picks will have a better career.

I would probably go with the guy who actually did well in hostile environments. Not the one who threw two pic sixes the last time he played in one.

I think Fields has more upside but he’s got a pretty high bust potential.
Fields struggles with throwing over the middle of the field on in-cutting routes. A pretty common feature of college QBs who don’t cut it in the pros because you’ve got to hit those routes where a WR creates some space with a move in the NFL to move the sticks.
Mac Jones has a lower ceiling but he’s probably the most polished passer in the draft. Yes, even more than Lawrence.
You draft for upside at the higher reaches of the draft but if you really like the fit with Jones then sure.

More often than not "upside" gets you fired 3 years later.
All this "high floor, low ceiling" stuff is BS. If you're a high draft pick, you'd better win in years 1-2 or you won't be around to "develope."

The thing is..........that's not what you are looking for in a top 3-10 pick. I have reservations about his arm strength and lack of mobility. I am just not sure he can fit the ball into an NFL window.
Lance and Fields have a lot of question marks also. This may be a great QB class down the road. There may be only one or two that ever do anything in the NFL also.

Mac Jones. Unathletic dude that uses short and medium range accuracy to compensate for a below average arm. Very good college QB that just lacks the tools to play in the NFL at a high level. He benefited greatly by having NFL WRs at the college level.

Mac had the best deep ball in college football this year
