NCAA trying to keep top prospects from going overseas out of high school before going to the NBA.
Doing everything they can to make it cake to play wherever you want.

LSU: The only school where the athletes have the same SAT scores as the students.

They're still giving standardized tests, but the scores are now excluded from the criteria needed to qualify.

No. But it’s not required at a lot of schools now. They are saying it’s because of COVID but they will eventually die out. California schools have gotten rid of them completely.
It really fricks up admissions. Georgia’s mid-50 on ACT scores recently is 30-33, but this year I know someone who got in with a 19 ACT because they chose not to submit it.

Makes an NCAA thread about LSU.

Have they changed these tests, or are students just more prepared now?
I remember when a score in the 30s was uncommon, and now 34+ almost seems required at some schools in order to get full scholarships.

Honestly, good on the kid for working the loophole.

I would've liked this for Ole Miss about 13 years ago. Would've saved a lot of pain in the mid 2010s.

ACT scores as a whole across the country have increased a bit over the last 20 years, but most of this has to do with UGA.
IIRC, UGA was ranked something like the #50 public university in the 80s and is now the #15 public university

A LOT of sessions have been canceled due to Covid.
And a lot of schools are starting not to require those scores, period.

I wonder how schools are awarding scholarships ($$) with no test scores?

I’ve had some families I work with have to drive 2-3 hours to find an ACT site because they keep cancelling.
We’re still required to give it in our district at the school as a state benchmark. Supposedly they won’t use those scores for this year in evaluating schools.

Eddie Lacy could’ve gotten into bama so much easier these days.

The ACT didn’t even exist until the late 50s. The SAT in the late 30s. They’ll find a way to standardize admissions.
