I think there is a high possibility that Stevenson will transfer if Nelson returns. Do you think he'll want to play 16 minutes off the bench in his second year?

I think he's more of a perimeter defender.

Stevenson is not yet physically ready and needs development time, but I don't think he's a good rebounder. Short wingspan, mediocre athleticism.
He was actually criticized a lot in high school for being very soft.

Ive never heard anyone say he has a short wingspan. I cant find the numbers listed anywhere.

It was obvious he needed to get stronger last year. But we were looking at a high school senior. He seems like a guy who is serious about getting to the next level. That means getting in the weight room.

The fact a consensus top 15 McDonalds AA recruit isnt guaranteed to start for us next year is insane

Bama could have up to 3 McD AA coming off the bench next year, but I expect Stevenson to start and become a star next year.

You could see him find his confidence during the tournament. If he adds some strength he has an NBA 1st rd ceiling.

Reminder: The transfer portal closes in 9 days on May 1st. Players don't have to make a commitment by then they just can't enter the portal after. Only grad transfers will be able to enter the portal after the closing window.

There are over 1,700 D1 players in the portal, nearly 400 have committed.

Bart Torvik put out his 2025 predictive model. Right now we are 45th( without Sears,Wrightsell, Nelson, or Cliff)

I went in and added those 4 and we jumped to 5th. Which is about right

He looked way out of his league against Kalkbrenner and Edey in the NCAAt. Would be solid against the Nelsons and Pringles of the world but not sure he gives us what Bediako did.

Analyzing the Current State of the Alabama Basketball Roster (SI)

Analysis of the current roster moves Alabama has made since the season ended, including what moves still need to happen to maximize the team's potential in 2024-25.

Cliff is the guy we really need. Hope we can get him.

No one has effectively defended Edey in two years.

I’m not arguing he’s better than Bediako or the guy from Rutgers we were looking at but he’s better than anyone we have on our roster currently.

Wish him well. Good dude and teammate.

Transfer portal era is wild. Auburn and Alabama both have successful seasons and the next year we'll see one of Auburn's two PGs tossing assists to one of Alabama's SFs at Michigan and the other one of Auburn's two PGs running point at Alabama.
