I think you'd struggle to name more than 5. You obviously aren't very familiar with the state of MS. I'd pick a college town like Starkville to live over almost anywhere in that state.

Starkville is essentially little Auburn

There aren't that many places in MS that are, using 5k as a break point, considered a town. There aren't 25 that would be better than Starkville but there are more than you think and I am talking about living there vs just enduring a game.

When I graduated in the early 80's we had no lights at our football stadium (Scott Field). I think before they put lights in the stadium they brought temporary light to one game. I cannot remember but I think it was an LSU game like 1985.

Starkville is great and very fun if you aren’t an a-hole.

It was ‘82.
And OP is too ignorant to realize that Starkvegas is tongue in cheek. It’s been called that even by students as long as I can remember.

I don't think that is helping.

Biloxi, Gulfport, Pass Christian are all better than that shithole

1984 was a long time ago when you were still in the ACC and 11 years from joining the big boys, plus Williams Brice is not exactly a prime piece of property! I must take up for Bully....Starkvegas is a great place to go to a game and the campus is very nice. One of our favorite away games. The logistics on game day is outstanding.

Much better than claiming Baton Rouge - or Columbia for that matter.

Anywhere close to the coast is better just because of that location.
Add in Southaven, OB, and Hernando. I know the...um...dynamics of Memphis are changing and I haven't lived in MS in 5 years so someone is welcome to correct.
Oxford goes without saying.
Madison/Ridgeland?
I've heard Meridian is pretty underrated between it's size and proximity to Jackson, the Coast, etc.
I'll give Stark(already aptly named)ville credit for trying to build up the Cotton District but I've been hearing that it's fairly underwhelming. So what gives it the title of being a "college town" instead of a town with a college in it?
and to any MSU fans i've offended....I'd much rather live their than Red Stick.

IMO, If you go to any SEC town for a game and don't have fun, that says a lot more about you than the town.

Skip Bertman came up with this tongue-in-cheek insult back when he & Ron Polk, best friends, were battling for SEC titles. This evolved into numerous other "insults" from Skip. My favorite: "whenever we played in Starkville, I always asked for an increase in my per diem because I would ask for a room without a view."Or this one: "our bus was stopped at the state line by State Troopers & our equipment mgr was arrested for smuggling books for the library there".
