I'm sure that's probably true. But just go to an SEC tournament, and you'll see that Kentucky likely will have more fans than the other teams combined. Like the commercial says, it just means more to Big Blue in hoops.

list is really dumb.
#23 notre dame and #21 western kentucky have only been to one final four, and never made it past that.
winning any 2 season/postseason games = 1 point
ncaa tournament bid = 2 points
elite 8 = 3 points
to put this in perspective, Arkansas' 8 early non-con cupcakes this season are worth 4 points.

Any list of college basketball programs that has Florida just a hair above Alabama is garbage.
They each have 20 NCAA Tournament bids, but Florida has been to three more Sweet 16s, eight more Eliite 8s, five more Final 4s, plus they have two National Titles.
Bama has only made it past the Sweet 16 one time in their history, and they lost in the Elite 8.
How in the world would someone think those programs were close to equal?

Dumb point system. In CBB postseason matters way more than wins and losses.
Teams seasons are built around winning conference regular season titles and advancing in the NCAA Tournament. Everything else is really secondary.

There is an argument that you should basically have different points scales for pre-big tournament and post-big tournament, because it wasn't all that long ago that teams in the SEC could go 22-6 and not go to the NCAA Tournament. So, I'd get that.
But in general in the last 40 years, we all know what matters because it's what we care about in a basketball season. Win the league, make the tournament, make a run in the tournament. That's it.

I bet this point system gave 2014 Florida more points than 2014 UConn, for example.
Not trolling UF but shining a light on what is probably a very obvious example of why this system is dumb.
It probably gave 1985 Georgetown more points than 1985 Villanova too.
College basketball is almost entirely all about what you do in the tournament. Think anyone remembers/cares that 2018 Virginia went 31-3 and had one of the most dominant seasons in ACC history? No, people remember them for being the #1 seed who lost to a #16 seed.
