He's a game manager. At this point, a DAMN good one. He will not lose us games basically ever. But he's probably not going to beat an elite team by turning in an otherworldly performance. Which is solid for a QB. But we're talking about more for this program.

Doubtful.

The sample size is about as large as it gets for a college QB. He is what he is. Maybe he'll do a little better with better weapons downfield, but he's not the guy to carry you to the promised land. We need to keep striving to find that elite QB who elevates you to a championship level all while recruiting the rest of the positions at a very high level so there are no major holes.

He targeted Demas once and the ball went 6 feet over his head.
If Mond returns, he will throw almost exclusively to Buckley, who will drop 6 out of every 10 passes.

Good locker room from the outside looking in. "Unfinished Business" seems to be the common theme.

Where are you seeing that? Did they do announcement?

Exactly. I'm very pragmatic when it comes to Mond. Some of the hate he gets is cartoonishly ridiculous (and, yes, he brought some of that on himself, either via off-field hijinks or on-field limitations), but there's no doubt he's improved to about as good as he's going to be. Which, for a Sumlin recruit who didn't even win the QB competition initially, is pretty dang remarkable.
But we're looking for Promised land territory now, and the team is on a trajectory aimed towards that. He's left thr program better than he found it, and can hand off the baton.

Which is DEFINITELY not something we could always say in previous years. That's refreshing.

Mond's absolute refusal to throw to anyone but "his guys" has limited us.
Make no mistake: if Jhamon Ausbon didn't opt out it's likely neither Lane nor Chapman emerge as a serious threat.

I think that's a disingenuous take. Wydermeyer became a huge threat out of nowhere last season after people assumed we'd be hampered by Cupp's injury. You yourself pointed out that Buckley was drop-prone, and we all saw Rogers regress to the mean big time, so where else BUT Ausbon and Quartney Davis was Mond supposed to go last year, exactly? Ainias was a fish and didn't really get into the flow until later.

Lol some of you are ridiculous. "The locker hates him" "he doesn't throw it to the right guys" "he did this or that and I don't like it"
The dude has busted his arse for this school and this team, the coaches and players (former and current) love him, he's helped lead 2 of our best teams in the last couple of decades and we just can't get past him hurting our feelings

When someone calls anyone who disagrees with him racist, advocates for defunding an organization that, without, the school wouldn't be where it is today and retweets support for a designated hate group, his on-field flaws will be magnified and much harder to overlook. He had a great (by his standards) season, but when his football playing days are over, his job prospects will be far more limited than other Aggies. The Aggie Network has a long memory.

Granted. That's why I said earlier that some of the hate he gets, he brought upon himself. I have no problem acknowledging that. I also have no problem saying he's got limitations and has likely reached his ceiling as a college QB, which is a solid game manager who won't lose you games.
But you said in your previous post that he's held us back by only throwing to "his guys." Like I showed, that's pretty disingenuous. Like you, I vehemently disagree with every stance Mond has taken off the field. But on it, I can at least see that he's made marked improvements, and don't have to baselessly besmirch his competitiveness to make my point. He's a gamer. He's proved that time and again. Often with subpar body language, and he's probably not the heart and soul of the team, but he IS a solid QB--we can't deny that, nor should we.

Yo man, give it a rest. We know you hate Kellen Mond, Kevin Sumlin and Noel Mazzone. You don't have to say it on every thread.. it is beyond exhausting and makes you look childish.
Go walk your dog, sechs your wife, hug your kid, something! Ya know, the important things in life. No one should have this much hatred invested in the team they love. Its supposed to be fun!
We just had a 9-1 season and won the Orange Bowl. Enjoy it!!

What I saw was posted on 247, and I guess Lance Zierlein (NFL draft guy) mentioned he had heard we could be returning a senior guard and tackle from scouts he had talked to.
Moore would be really big I think as breaking in two new tackles along with a new QB is not ideal

LZ is a long long time Houston Sports Radio host. He also does all the draft grades in NFL.com. I’d trust his info.

I also trust Lucci with info like this and he basically said we are hoping for 2 to come back
