Is that a subtle way of saying Arkansas underachieves?

Van Horn built this program and it took a lot of years to get where we are. We are at the point where are going to the CWS each year. A title is just a matter of time.

You can argue that Van Horn in some of his CWS appearances such as the 2004 and 2009 seasons overachieved.

Sure wish Miss State could get a couple natties in baseball. The level of support and passion their fans have for their program is phenomenal. They deserve success.

I wonder where the gamecocks facility ranks in the full list. 10 years ago Carolina stadium was the Taj Mahal of college baseball but it’s slowly been surpassed over this past decade it seems like

When people criticize Vandy for being shitty at other sports, they need to look at baseball and realize what Vandy CAN do if they actually want to. For whatever reason their administration loves baseball and hasn't spared any expense to make them competitive. They literally choose not to do so in other sports. It's not because they can't They could absolutely be Stanford in football if they wanted to be.

Hope so. Love DVH, but right now he’s the Dan Marino of Coaches.

No he isn't. We never had back to back CWS appearances until 18 and 19. It would have been a third if not for covid.

He had our first CWS apperance in 2004 for the first time in 15 years. The 90s sucked besides the 99 season.

He has six CWS apperances more than half of our 10 total.

We are now at the point we are recruiting at a high level. High school baseball has exploded in the state of Arkansas.

Winning a title will be sooner than later.

It's not a given that we ever win one. Look at FSU. Even if we don't I'll enjoy DVH elevating our program to an elite level.

Baseball is really hurt by Travel Ball. Expensive sport that excludes a lot of good athletes who migrate to Basketball or Football instead. Yes, some poorer athletes are helped, but most are not.

Yep. Baseball becoming a year-round sport has set the game back by a substantial margin. It’s essentially the Golf of the Big-3. Exclusive, and if you have any hope of being any good, you have to devote your entire life to it unless you’re just a freak athlete.

I'm not concerned with Florida State. They seem to always hit a brick wall. We haven't yet.

Van Horn in some of his Six CWS apperances, he has managed to overachieve in the post season.

Now the recruiting has exploded, he will finally win one because he will now have the better team. While in other appearances, he did not.

Let's not forget we had a chance to win it in the third game. We were fortunate it wasn't 0-2. Oregon State was the better team and we didn't have the arms to win it.

It's not like we're recruiting at a Bama football level though. Most years we'll be behind a Florida or Vandy in recruiting in just the SEC. We still have to go through them for a title.

We are recruiting very close to what Alabama does in football. 2019-2021 top five classes.

We have closed the gap considerably with Florida and Vandy recently.

Vandy baseball had a meteoric rise because they hired a great coach in Corbin but also because they took advantage of scholarship loopholes. These loopholes basically allowed them to have all of their baseball roster on full-ride scholarships. This is accomplished by mixing and matching their need-base tuition program with their athletic scholarship limit. Public schools with larger student populations and often times smaller endowments can't compete with Vandy's scholorship programs and are limited to 11.7 athletic scholorship limit. Vandy can't really replicate this tactic in other sports with larger scholorship limits.

Or can they win small scale stuff and aren’t great at upscaling to 85 players?
