Coached at Arkansas State and Ole Miss, almost hired in 2015 to replace Muschamp (eventually hired Steele)?

Seems like a gettable coach if he's willing to leave his home state.

No. We aren't hiring another coach who wears glasses. Too soon...

Coach is very happy at Indiana. It would take a pretty lucrative contract to pull him.

I misread that as Tim Allen and was thinking "well he's not doing the voice of Buzz Lightyear anymore so he should be free."

Great coach. But he is from Indiana. I’m surprised he is looking around.

He apparently has a $23 million buyout so it would seem unlikely.

In regards to the search for a new head football coach at Auburn, I suggest that Coach Tony Elliott of Clemson be seriously considered. Coach Elliott is smart, energetic and very successful both on the football field and in recruiting. In hiring a coach like Tony Elliott, Auburn will receive wonderful press and an overwhelming degree of goodwill throughout the country. I feel sure football victories will follow accordingly.

You'll get your chance eventually, Tony. Just be patient.

Yeah, that ain't happening. I thought the $8 mil buyout got Mario was a lot for them. There's no way the PTB at auburn are going to pay another $23 mil on top of the $21 mil they already are having to pay when the main money boosters seem to want a much cheaper Steele.

And we thought Gus' buyout was insane.

Aside from early (10 person+) lists and the plane tracker today, I don't think so.

While I'm sure Auburn people could rally around a potato right now as an alternative to the Steele coup, I think he's a pretty mediocre candidate.

I mean I think he's a good fit, but his record of success is short and he's probably not worth a single digit (m) buyout, much less 20+.

Auburn will hire Napier. Take it to the bank.
