That's not good. It baffles me. They look like vintage Oregon/Baylor on like 3 drives per game, then the rest of the game, they're stuck in the mud.

Look at our online depth chart. Pay attention to the age of our starters. I see flashes of being really good. Let's see how we look in a few years.
Also look at the rank of our losses, we weren't supposed to be in these games.

The only way we win this game tonight is if we literally score every play. Our defense (which we all know is at least average to above average by 2020 standards) just gave up 63 points. shite happens.

1 senior O linemen who came in as a juco needing to gain weight. Chad slimmed him up. pittman tried to rebulk him up. he wasn't highly coveted either except for Oklahoma also going after him. we were his best 2 offers by a long shot.
the rest are RS fresh, and a soph.
if Wagner is playing he is a fricking Anderson guy who recruited guys not even truly contributing even though they are the oldest players (your usual starters on the O line). his best one was a blue shirt who needed to RS, but Anderson was a petty mfer and started "Anderson guys" over better pittman crooks.
this is what makes us inconsistent on offense. also our all SEC back in boyd just has not been the same guy since getting hurt. maybe 1 too many Injuries finally did him in, and its possible he is running timid because he knows he is made of glass.
hell KJ didn't look awful on his series. infact I'd say briles has really worked on that kid, and made him much better. barring something crazy, like franks staying another year, the QB battle between kj and Malik is going to be fierce. both are better fits for this offense. I think Malik has more raw ability, and the better passer already. possibly a bigger arm. he is an RG3 clone. KJ though has NFL size, and could probably take more punishment from designed runs. not as much of a home run threat, but he would be a load on those qb powers in the redzone.
what we are missing is size, and experience on the O line. everyone is young. next year though they will be 3 years in or older, and fully matured to play in this league.
we will be scary on offense next year. bank on it.
if we can convince Marshall (who will get drafted as he is having an Armon watts type RS SR year) to stay. because he could play himself into a higher round with more film, and not go as far down as armon did. he would have also jumped up the boards with one more year.
the rest of the defense is young, and our D line guys will also finally be 3 year guys who are finally fully grown into men. before this year I thought I'd never say this, but I am excited to think Morgan could play another year here. would really help with LB if he returns.

They will be much better when they are juniors and seniors. Add more depth and you have an offense.
We don't have the offense to Slug it with Florida.
Look at the difference in offenses of Tennessee and Florida. It is night and day.
The very least our defense can shutdown crappy offenses but Florida is overwhelming with one of the best QBs in the nation.
The final score is what I thought it would be.

This.
The biggest factor in this game was offensive line play.
Our O-line was getting obliterated, and Florida got to Franks with 3 man fronts on many plays. Meanwhile Trask had a clean pocket and was able to pick apart our secondary.

agreed... However we have the coach, of all coaches to get this corrected.
Pittman will not tolerate this for long!

Thought both of those guys were redshirt seniors?
EDIT - scratch that, forgot about the COVID extra year of eligibility rule.

This year is a freebie for everyone. It doesn’t count against eligibility at all so any senior on the team can come back for one more year.

We are moving the ball without any explosive players. All we have is Burks. We need a couple of people who can really stretch the field.

Woods and Warren are fine.
We have plenty of options.
It’s generally outmatched O line play and QB lack of mobility/decision making that kills this offense.
Oh yea, and give Smith the ball.
Other than that, Briles called a solid game last night. Have to give him credit. Could have easily had 42 on UF, that’s nothing to be displeased about.

Think Warren fricked up his knee last night. Mike Woods was asking for prayers for him on his Twitter.

All I know is KJ isn't the answer at QB.
Hopefully Malik Hornsby can be that guy next year.
I highly doubt Franks comes back, but you never know.
OL will get better. We have Pittman, he can recruit the best of them.
Defense needs speed at LB and at DE.

Burks is a monster, but we need to stop those little passes to him out in the flat. It gets sniffed out and he gets lit up too often. Hate to see him get injured on a play like that.
Florida did a good job in keeping him from being a huge factor last night. That freed up Woods to make a couple of big plays. Wish Knox was showing up this year.
Anyway, in the SEC, it's always going to come down to whose lines are better.

Yeah for sure. Just saying he has the speed and athleticism to make plays in this league.
Knox and Henry being slow to get going hurts us.
If Kern and Henry can get to optimal fitness, they're both solid assets. Love Kern's hands, he's just a little chunky RN but maybe they like that for blocking.

The roster is so fricked up from chaggie, it will take time to correct the depth chart, but the roster has at least been competitive in the games this year.
Yeah they aren't a top ten team, but they are no longer a bottom ten team.
The excuse of being young has been so over used, when it is true it's often over looked. Not only are the lines too thin to use proper substitution strategies, they are also full of young players. The linebacker depth chart is "good" but only 1 deep. The defensive backs are all young. So you can't rely on the dbs to cover allowing a proper pass rush, the depth isn't there on the dline to sub and keep a proper fresh front, the dbs and lbs wear out from covering the field the entire game with no rest.
So odem is doing about all he can this year, bend/don't break sucks, the other option is break then break some more.
This puts more pressure on the offense to produce and keep up on the score board more or less. We have a good qb, 2 rbs, a mediocre receiving corp, and all of this is hamstrung by a you oline who constantly gets beat by 4 man rush, let alone having to picking up a blitz.
Bottom line if isn't wasn't for covid, the team would be at 6 wins at this point in the season, uga/florida losses would be traded for 1 ND loss most likely. I don't you'd find anyone disappointed with results like this last spring...

I think we could be a little more efficient with what we have by giving most of Boyd’s carries to Smith. In order to actually take the next step we need more speed at the skill positions and a more dynamic qb.
I’m rooting for Franks but he’s about as ready for the NFL as I am. That’s not to say coming back would change much. I honestly would just bet against him ever playing in the NFL. He’s got a great arm though. Does anyone know if he would be prohibited from joining the Razorbacks baseball team?

I actually like franks and the game he plays. He needs to quit holding onto the ball too long though. Thst seems to be his biggest weakness
