This is dumb. Some players are fueled by that in game competition/duel with their opponent.

Just look at Michael Jordan. It was well known he elevated his play the more trash talk/competitive it got with his opponent

It is a game played by kids. If it is trash talk/game related and not affecting their play, I don't see what's the problem

I think that attitude, the showboating, the jawing, is what makes him the receiver he is.

I agree - look at receivers like Dez Bryant and a lot of the 2000-era Biletnikoff winners. They all had that flash-arrogance style but dominated. Then the NFL putting a muzzle on them killed a lot of potential HOF careers.

I think the idea is that it could hurt the team in another critical situation like the Oregon game. I dont think any of this is dumb, its just a discussion that people are seeing a possible issue.

Any player with an edge like that, a good coach has to figure out how to balance allowing his player to retain that edge without it being a detriment to the team.

One is the college game and one is a pro league. In the NFL they let you get away with things you can't do in college.

What is dumb is costing your team yards because you want to show what a good play you made instead of letting other people tell you that you made a good play. "Look at me" doesn't work in college.

I kinda wish we would spread it around more, it seems we are still tunneling on Seth and teams will pick up on that

I understand all the hand wringing over the antics, and brings bad memories of Duke, but me and my son laughed at what he did after the TD grab over the defender.

I think coaches are very aware, but WR's and DB's have always been notorious for swag, cocky, talking shite, etc. Can't stifle their personalities but he can choose a little more better when to display it, like on these two TD catches

Two bad arse catches

They refs talks to both coaches before the games about things they are specifically looking to flag, he will be fine.

Seth had six catches
Stove had four
Schwartz had three

The only time we tunnel on Seth is the Fade in the endzone which is done with every team that’s ever thrown a fade

Waddle is the best, but Seth Williams isn’t far. I wouldn’t have a problem saying our unit is the best

Waddle and Smith are a filthy duo. Couldn’t tell you how strong the guys behind them are, but Waddle is the best WR in the country IMO.

Ya'll are just plain crazy if you think our wide outs are the best in the league on a good day we threw for what 230 yards. It was nice win and we saw some different plays but we are far from the best wideouts in the league. Probably around 5th at best.

I'm in agreement with you on this. Seth in particular had a good game and would start at every SEC team but Schwartz and Stove I don't think would start at other top SEC teams.

Swartz needs to get his deep shots with that speed

Honestly the biggest benefit to Schwartz is that teams have to bracket him with a safety over the top. Seth and Stove should feast on the intermediate routes with Schwartz on the field. Glad also to see us still creating ways to get him the ball despite everyone doing their best to take away the deep ball.
