Which decade of Auburn football do you want more? Which one were you more satisfied with?
Lots to pick from each decade

Can someone please post the gif of Gus riding by in the bus shooting a bird to everyone.
I have lost that one.

How about 2004-2014?
I’m being picky.

Overall I enjoyed the Tuberville years much more and still think of the 04 team as deserving champs, but you can't pass up the magical maximum jimmie rustling run in 2010 and wild ride in 2013 with the Kick 6 and getting to play in the Rose Bowl for the national title. If only we hadn't missed that simple tackle on the hitch

I enjoyed the Tubberville years as well and I know its more fresh on our mind but the past 10 years have had the most memorable moments. By far.
So many great things happened and some very bad things.

I did not like Tubs. So not his.

same, i was far more frustrated with Tubs than I ever was with Chizik and Malzahn. Chizik and Malzahn seem to win 95% of the games that they should, Tubs would always lose one that he shouldn't. And I'm not talking about having a lead at LSU and losing the game, I'm talking about losing to USF at home or back to back GT losses.

The 80's. Auburn was so far down, but Pat Dye came, won a NC (NYT) in 83 and won 4 SEC championships 83,87,88,89. Bama was upset, so they planted Twiletta Ramsey (Eric's wife) and Donald Watkins to take us down. It worked for few years.

We got them back after the 92 season though. I feel like they suffered severally.

well, since the first decade AD/CE started in Year 1 and not Year 0, all following decades would also start at XXX1 and run to XXX0.
So give me 2001-2010:
- 2 undefeated seasons
- 1 national championship
- 1 Heisman Trophy
- 2 RBs taken in the top-5 of the same draft
- 6-straight against Alabama
- 3 crazy UF upsets
- 0 winless SEC seasons
- 0 whirlybirds

Ok, lets do it differently, 2000-2009 minus 2004 against 2011-2019.
I still pick 2011-2019
We had more highs and more incredible moments

So the fundamental question here is Tuberville or Gus, right?
For all the disappointment under Gus's tenure, it's because he and Chizik raised the expectations here. We've been in the top-10 every season that he's been here, right?
2004-2006 was fun but the ride that Gus has taken us on has been something else.
I'm not sure there's really a choice here.

I will take both please. From 2000 AU has been an elite level team. During a time when every SEC team has improved in every aspect from facilities to talent. Before the 80’s we were probably 6th out of the big 6. We have worked ourselves probably tied for 3rd with UF now.
Bama
LSU
AU/UF
UGA (on the rise)
UT
Bama

No, not really. I agree the expectations are higher now and they should be. Gus has raised the level of the program and people should expect better things.
There are goods and bads of both but our highs were higher in the last 10 years even without 2010.

Pretty easy for me....2010-2019 for all the reasons already given. Also, the Tubs years were frustrating as hell.

I was probably less frustrated in the Tubs years. And CFB seemed more pure/organic than it does now.
But I don't think it's a coaching thing. Everything has gotten sort of CFP or bust now, and it's made the game less fun. In prior decades we'd all get fairly jacked up for any SEC game, perhaps save Vandy. Now Ole Miss, Arky (and sometimes UT, SCAR, etc.) are looked at as stepping stones and mere "games that might trip you up" instead of meaningful SEC matchups.
In some ways that's good, we've stayed in the contingent of programs expected to win those games. But IMO it kind of shortens the season in a way, and given our lack of success against the big 3 games we care about, it's made a lot of the Gus era lackluster.
