Or it implies that he thought Guice had fricked the other player's girlfriend, which was what Guice was going around bragging about.
Also there was no reason to cover anything up since she wouldn't cooperate with the investigation when LSU contacted her.

Yeah, there was an offhand mention about O saying something to the boyfriend of one of the alleged victims.
Sounds like they were just trying to shoehorn the current coach in so they could hit the 24 hour news cycle and get a twitter mob.
