This is some Matt Luke "Mississippi Made" bull shite and is a good reason he's not a coach. Who the frick cares if they love the university? If they're good, get them on campus and win games. I don't care if they think the campus is beautiful or love the teachers
I agree 100% but it's actually worse than loving the campus or university here. A good portion of our fans want Arkansans..... not Razorbacks or University of Arkansas alumni but Arkansans. These are the fans who push for Charlie Strong to be hired because he's from Batesville and played for UCA. We have fans who want Houston Nutt as an AD citing that he is a "TRUE RAZORBACK" despite the fact that ditched the football team as a player like the coward he is and transferred to Oklahoma State. Nutt is a cowpoke not a Razorback. BUT the reason they love Nutt is that he is little rock personified. Our fans are also the one's who hype up no star kids from Poyen thinking they deserve a full scholarship over a 4 star. State pride is for losers and it begets this loser mentality. I don't care if a coach comes in and trashes the state of Arkansas - if he wins and runs a clean program then that's all that matters.

The truth is that most of our great coaches in Razorback Athletics history have very little connection to the state of Arkansas outside of playing/coaching for the Razorbacks.

Frank Broyles - from Georgia
Eddie Sutton - from Kansas
Nolan Richardson - from Texas
John McDonnell - from Ireland
Norm DeBriyn - from Wisconsin
Dave Van Horn - from Missouri by way of California
Lance Harter - from Texas (grad from Texas Tech)

Not one of them an Arkansan but a shite ton of winning done by them.

Your hatred for the rest of the state is odd. Whats so terrible about having sidewalk fans? Also, i'm not a big Houston Nutt fan but it's not like he didn't have success here.

Drew Morgan had an interview the other day where he was pissed Chad Morris didn't give him a GA job too. And he has a brother on the team lol.

I get wanting former players to be involved in the program and be great ambassadors for it, but it must be exhausting for a head coach trying to cater to former players constantly while there are bigger things to worry about with the current team. Growing up in the state and having a passion for the program is great but Saban isn't a great coach because he was yelling Roll Tide in diapers. Sure it would be cool having Darren McFadden as RB coach but what if he is a terrible coach? You're paying these coaches millions to win games no matter where they're from.

Cite where I said anything about sidewalk fans (cue Jeopardy music)............

Nothing.

The fans that are terrible are the ones who think that because you are an Arkansan that you are a Razorback. The "muh taxes" fans who think the Razorbacks owe them something despite the fact that zero taxes support the Razorback Athletic Department. The fans who spend more time bitching than actually donating or financially supporting the program. The fans who force us to play in god awful arenas/stadiums in little rock or they'll pick another team. The fans who think we should recruit every 5'11" 250 lbs 6.2 forty player from Arkansas because he "lubs da helmut". The fan whose extent of Razorback knowledge is whatever The Buzz tells them. The fan who bitches about attendance or crowd noise but never goes to a single game.

The fans who didn't know we even we had a baseball program until we made it to the CWS finals but all of sudden act like their life is over when we fell one out short in Omaha - they couldn't even list the lineup but "OH MY GAWD dem medicorety looser razerbacks are killin meez!!! her der hogs gunna hog!!!"

The "state of Arkansas" fans who jump on the Razorback bandwagon when we are good but then trash talk us and hitch on to one of the smaller instate programs when we are bad. The one's who are hoping we get put in our "rightful place" when we play an instate school.

But the worst fans of all are those who bitch and complain about the Razorbacks nonstop but the minute someone calls out shitty fans they get offended.

Fairweather/t-shirt or whatever moniker you want to give them. Has nothing to do with graduating from The University of Arkansas. It's whether or not you are a Razorback fan or a fan of convenience. State pride is for losers. Develop some deeper pride for the program you supposedly love.

None of Nutt's coaching career makes him out to be a qualified candidate for the athletic director position ----- which is what I discussed. I don't think the coach who was in charge during the Code Red/Springdale 5 garbage should be our AD.

Yeah he had Arkansas/Browns fans voting for him constantly. Still surprised he won it over Mike Vick. He was a beast that season though, 1,600+ yards from scrimmage.

Your title seems pretty dramatic. He did not go nuclear. His takes were pretty level headed and the fact that he is not welcomed back in the facility is pretty surprising. I think that is one of the best things that Coach O did was by welcoming back former players and breathing life into the program.

He seems depressed honestly, if you listen to the whole podcast he talks about how he recently started doing his own podcast and how that's all that keeps him going.

First off OP, the last four topics you've started have been links to that rinky dink website.

yeah, posters who are only here to shill for your shitty sports blog, take note. post a little bit about other things once in a while, so your shilling isn't so obvious.

props for posting something from GASN or wtf ever, that isn't a "rank SEC towns" or rank the SEC women or rank the SEC coaches' ballsacks.

Dude, he said he's gone in the Hog facility and ask to meet Coach Pittman, and "they won't even let me go in and meet him"

In other words, he's full of shite, because if Coach Pittman was not in a meeting or whatnot, he'd be glad to go meet him. Peyton Hillis is a bullshite crybaby who walked in without an appointment is what happened, and now he wants to get on camera whining his arse off.

I've been around him before and he's a self absorbed narcissist. I would say all of this to his face.

He began the whole thing basically whining that Tim Horton - the running backs coach at Vandy - didn't get the head coaching job.

he's also, twice, taken veiled shots at Casey Dick, I suppose because Casey has worked and built the beginning of a career as a head coach in high school, and Hillis on the other hand is too lazy to do any coaching other than volunteer at Siloam Springs

so he's jealous of Casey Dick and taking swipes at him in regard to Casey's playing career
