Love College Sports and all sports in general, but not worth selling the soul of the country for. If Athletes make demands now because they think they have the upper hand , I say frick them . Universities and Athletic Conferences have zero backbone and will bent over and take it. It will be up to the fans and the Alums who will have to stand up and say enough.

I'm honestly surprised at how well I've gotten along without sports the last few months. I want college football, don't get me wrong. But if it didn't happen, I wouldn't be devastated.

I have already pulled my money from Bama.

If I can't walk the walk.... I won't talk the talk.

This is NOT about racism. This is socialism vs the founding of this nation. It's why you have statues of even Abe Lincoln being taken down.

But the alumni won't. They have no nuts to say enough is enough.

I am sure that will make AU look appealing to recruits, so I hope you follow through with it.

It is interesting. I thought I would miss sports but I don't. I am now enjoying my own life and could care less about what the spoiled ingrate athletes do.

All their nasty comments recently about our country makes me want football to go away for good. Let them get real jobs (or pursue real degrees) and realize how sweet and easy their life was.

CTE started the football decline and the 2020 riots may finish it. No tears will be shed by me.

I agree. No reason to compromise our morals and history for the spontaneous feelings that flare up within 18-22 year olds. It’s our job to educate these ‘kids’, and it’s being taken away from us by the media.

I’m conflicted on sports right now. Having no sports is eating at me. It hurts. It’s entertainment, and that is one of the great things about the American lifestyle. With that said, we have finally hit the point of contention with college athletics. It was about money, and now it’s about ‘slave mentality’. These kids should feel grateful that they have a talent that is in demand, so much that scholarships worth thousands of dollars are being given to these students.

It’s great that they find causes worthy of voicing their opinions. These causes are not driven from within, it’s coming from one side of this nation. These students think they can read Wikipedia for 5 minutes and become ‘educated’ about a historical figure. Nobody is judged relative to when they lived.

So if these Athletes that combine to generate BILLIONS among the 70 P5 Colleges dare have an opinion that differs from yours or asks for more fair treatment, then you define that as dissension and "selling the soul of the Country"

In your fvcked up world, the opinion of a Minority group is always wrong and the opinion of those in the majority is always correct, why not simply let right vs wrong stand on its own merits?

The Athletes don't think they have the upper hand, they know they have the upper hand, missing out on March Madness due to CV19 caused a ripple where G5 Programs from coast to coast shut down numerous Teams, and March Madness-MBB is only responsible for 15-20% of most P5 school's total Athl Budget, the rest is from P5 FB

Mess around and let Athletes strike or have CV19 wipe out a yr of CFB and this entire thing comes tumbling down

Simply ask the ADs and non Revenue Sports what is best; to pay FB & MBB an enhanced stipend and tighten the budget elsewhere, or to have them shut it down and deal with massive pay cuts and a massive reduction in sports offered combined with having to service the same amount of massive debt on facilities?

After that paragraph above, paying FB & MBB looks like a really attractive option

Athletes have every right to use their platform as long as they’re willing to accept the risks of doing so without crying racism if paychecks and scholarships disappear.

I’m not apologetic that I want sports to be an escape from the politicization of everything.

Good. I don't have a problem with things tumbling down. In fact it would be a cold, stark reality for the athletes. Especially the NFL. Without the NFL how would these athletes make MILLIONS ? Nothing dumber than biting the hand that feeds you.

Your BILLION narrative is dead. Teams don't make BILLIONS. College football shuts down then what do the players do for an education ? Cry that the government owes them ?

^this is the new normal the athletes and networks ha e not considered. I’d rather play golf than watch it. I’d rather play Pickleball than watch football. I’d rather shoot hoops than watch it.

People are now doing rather than watching. Playing with your kids is more fun than riding several hours in the car to a hot stadium.

Once you grow up, you will realize there are more important things in life than getting a recruit or winning a game.

I hope so anyway

Yes, that could happen. You made the a point. No college ball, no
College Education, No NFL, no
Millionaires. I love college ball but love this country more. It's their
Future. Let them throw it away. Not one frick will be given.

The libtards and post-modernists are rejoicing that “the man” is getting taken down any way possible. There is no law in nature that requires that college football must retain its popularity— just ask NFL, which hasn't regained its pre-2017 viewership.

The mindset of “attack everyone and everything that I disagree with” on the part of the players and fueled by the SJW will eventually impact the fanbase.

Ok Karen.

Any other hostage situations you want to put people in?

I couldn’t care less what happens this fall. If there’s football, great. If not, I’ll be in the tree stand or on a golf course.

If your opinion is different you are wrong and should be destroyed. All these kids insinuate that all the people that came before them were stupid

This is true for other sports as well. The pause in sports has made lots of people reflect about why they support games. Games don’t offer direct benefits to anyone other than the players, coaches and owners. Fans are lowest on the totem pole but highest on the cost list. It really makes no sense to be a fan of sports these days.

I'd like to see sports come back to regain some semblance of normal, but not at the cost of hearing how multi millionaire pro athletes were suppressed by the society and university that gave them that opportunity.

Go look at Champ and Boss Bailey. They grew up as poor as poor can be in a town in the middle of nowhere. Would they have had any opportunity to get where they are financially and be college educated if they were really that suppressed?

I live in a state that offers the Hope Scholarship to anyone with a certain GPA or higher to go to college for free. There are plenty of opportunities to make yourself better no matter who you are or what you come from, if you choose not to take them you held yourself back, society didn't
