Forgot how close it was, Mizzou actually had a lead midway in the 3rd QTR. What do y'all think would've happened if Mizzou would've beat Auburn and faced FSU in Championship game?

Mizzou would’ve gotten smacked.

Auburn had more talent than Mizzou, and FSU was immensely more talented than both.

Alabama or Auburn were the two teams that were most likely to beat FSU that year.

Enjoyable game to watch that didn’t have my team in it.

Watching that AU team always makes me wonder what Malzahn has been doing w his offense since then.

He had a veteran line, a hell of a running back and the perfect QB for that system.
The 2014 offense was even better statistically.

True. They weren’t even the best team in the East that year.

No recruiting a good OL.

His offense wins and loses with its OL.

He has been chasing 5 star WR’s for a half a decade.

Idiot.

Was in attendance in Atlanta that day. Drove through a driving ice storm in Kentucky overnight to get there. One of the great sports atmospheres I've ever seen. Auburn fans were outstanding, loud and the game was as high-octane an offensive output as you'll see.

Mizzou had a terrible defensive gameplan that sat back and let Auburn create large running lanes EVERY SINGLE PLAY. A great memory for sure, just the fact that Missouri had bucked all the projections to be in that game and I think we gained some respect that day.

Really? I felt like you guys lost respect. Reinforced the narrative scheme will never beat talent.

Missouri had just as many players drafted as Auburn in '14 and more in '15

They didn't have our OL or Mason.

Best teams don't need a shanked FG attempt to beat a top 10 opponent.

the best team in the East that year didn't need its starting QB for the first 3 quarters to beat a top 5 Missouri on the tigers' home field.

We would have beat FSU. Would have beat Auburn too had our DC not decided to completely scrap the defense we had been running all year with a week to prepare

Missouri’s defense was completely destroyed. Way more so than Auburn’s and that was supposedly the suspect defense of the two.
