overall as a head coach. And, 71-34 at Auburn. (I did not factor in a Bowl game at the end of the year due to it either being a win OR a loss).

-He has had Auburn in 6 consecutive Bowl Games.

-Won 1 SEC Championship

-Won 2 SEC West Division Championships

-And reached the BCS National Championship and was awarded National Runner-Ups that year against FSU.

Would his resume be acceptable at your School given the time that he has had?

Will it be acceptable for Auburn fans if he only reached 9 wins this year?

It's a milestone year for sure for Coach Gus either way.

What I want to know from AU people is this: is the new schedule of SEC games to your liking? Instead of playing UGA in week 11 and bama in week 13 with a rent-a-win in between, you now play UGA in Oct and play LSU and Bama in weeks 12 and 13. Is this better for Auburn?

id be fine with nine wins. back to back nine wins would so consistency however if you follow track history this looks like another 8 win season along with us beating some mid tier acc/big ten team in a bowl and getting false hope for next year

It is an improvement as far as monthly disbursement, yes.

Gus is a good coach and has a good offensive system but he hasn't been able to get the right QB for his system since Nick Marshall.

Depends when you're asking.

If Tom Herman came in immediately after the Mack Brown era, likely not.

If Tom Herman, during his actual tenure post-Charlie era, posts an 81-37 record after 7 years, hell yes I'd be all for it. Especially if it came with a runner up and a Big 12 championship or two.

Other fans would not be pleased, but I would say a large faction of said fans would be the t-shirt fans that think Texas should be best in the country every year with no regard to actual circumstances or situations surrounding a season.

Don't get me wrong: a 5-loss season post Charlie or not is not Texas's standard in the grand scheme of things. But I do think people don't realize how crappy the situation was when Tom took over.

It's definitely not ideal, but it breaks up playing both at uga and at bama almost back to back. I feel like there could have been another way to get it back to those two being either home/away or away/home, but this is what we have now.

I don't like that we won't be playing uga in November anymore. It's gonna be weird playing them early in the year. I kinda felt like that was a badge of honor that our schedule closed that strong every year. No one else has to play LSU, bama and uga every single year like we do.

Final AP poll for Auburn under Gus:

2013 - Not Ranked
2014 - #6
2015 - #6
2016 - Not Ranked
2017 - #12
2018 - #9
2019 - #16

Losing to Minnesota last year probably ended the season on a bad note. If not, then his teams would likely have 4 out of 7 teams ranked in the top 10. And 5 of his 7 teams ranked #12 or higher at the end of the season.

He has done well against Alabama though, considering the juggernaut that they are.

Mississippi State, Missouri, and Tenner are excited about 9 wins also. Elite company right there.

Les Miles was 114-34. One national title, one runner-up. 2 SEC championships, one other SECW champion. 11 consecutive bowl games. We fired him, and we would fire Gus too.

He is a good coach, but he hasn’t been able to put it all together and win the big one. In any league, you’re compared to your peers, and he lacks what other high tier coaches have achieved: postseason glory.

Mark Richt got fired. Les Miles got fired. Gus can absolutely get fired if it is believed that he’s reached his ceiling. With each passing season, it’s harder and harder to not come to that conclusion.
