You know, we also won the SEC that year. I mean, it's 2 losses, but can you just imagine how one would feel if, oh, I don't know, one's team somehow won the national championship game after failing to qualify for the conference championship? Why bother even counting something like that?

Still better than any other football team in 07. Maybe Bama can claim their 07 team to be the best team to ever lose to ULM?

You're from Alabama. It probably doesn't take much to amaze you.

Georgia's two-loss 2007 team, the one that didn't even play for the SEC title, sure wanted to fall aas [sic] backwards into that 2007 BCS championship.

I like Ritch and can't blame him for trying to get in the game. Why wouldn't he try. UGA did play well late that season.
His argument isn't solid though. UGA was #4 before #1 and #2 lost, but also before the SECCG and other championship games were played. If you are going to ignore Conference Championship games all together then Missouri stays #1 and UGA is still left out. It's very arbitrary on his part to pretend the B12 Championship game should be considered, but the SEC (his own conference) shouldn't. How stupid is that.
Even if you don't put the extra value of LSU being Conference Champion (which is absurd but just to play along) you can't discard The Tigers won that extra game. 11-2 is better than 10-2 by winning percentage.
If that isn't enough before selection Sunday there was #5 Va Tech. The highest ranked team either UGA or LSU played. LSU not only won that game but completely demolished them. UGA didn’t have a win anywhere nearly as good as that one.
Outside trolling posters or Mark Ritch no one with credibility thought UGA belonged, specially not over LSU.
It's fun to re visit that year. What a crazy ride.

LSU was hobbled and running a bit on fumes late that season. Dorsey, Doucet and Flynn missed a lot of time, 3 key talented seniors. Others also missed time.
When healthy that team was pretty good. Va Tech and Ohio State showed that.

Just remember the team that lost to Kentucky/Arkansas whooped Ohio State. What a weird sesson

If LSU wants to claim the 2019 LSU Tigers as the best national champs of all time it is only fair to claim the 2007 LSU Tigers as the worst national champs of all-time - or at LEAST the modern era.
Only 15-0 team in SEC History
Only 2 loss national champion in modern SEC History
Facts is facts
I get your argument, but best and worst is not simply based on record.
Also, please remove the bold part of your quote, Mr. 1941.

You're making a counterargument to the guy who wasn't arguing about your 2-loss season to begin with.

Sorry, I was just using your quote to make the counterpoint. I think that all of the BCS/CFP titles are well deserved personally. I don't give two shits about 2 losses or division titles. I think the best team has won just about every season.

In 17 conmemorating the 10th anniversary of that insanity a few articles were written. Here are a couple I found if anyone wants to read. Some real crazy whit.

Not for the faint of heart but that season was the most exciting. Isn't that better than the shite we've had the last 2-3 seasons with Clemson playing a bunch of dwarfs and pretty much being penciled in before they even play a game?

It was a weird season and a very balanced one at that. I must reminds our readers that the 2007 LSU Tigers had five wins against teams that went on to finish ranked in the Top 15 of the final 2007 AP poll. That's rarely been done and never by Alabama. Just saying......

I gave you the modern era as consideration, baw. "All time" can't be right.
And if it is decided that 07 LSU is the worst champ of the modern era, I'll reach out to the guy banging the ugliest super model for tips on how to cope.
