After one loss? What did Saban quit and everyone transfer?
That is a hack of an opinion piece.

I’ll take the bait. Back to back wins weren’t a fluke. What was Tua bobbling the ball?
We drove 90 yards for a TD off of that. All you can say about the fumble is it prevented Bama getting points there. But the rest of the 1st half they didn't do much outside of one long pass play on a trick play.
A bounce here or there might have changed how the game developed, but Bama could not stop LSU all night when LSU needed a score. The biggest flukes Saturday were all in Bamas favor.

The irony. Again, you won’t acknowledge how we beat them in back to back years (almost three). Just like LSU, we were up 20+ points and Bama came back to make it interesting just like this past weekend’s game. The difference is LSU has a holier than thou outlook right now.. it’s not surprising at all. Enjoy the win, but check back in when you win back to back games against top ranked Bama squads.

You sure about that?

Saban is still at Alabama, and he's still recruiting very well. So no, Alabama's not going anywhere anytime soon. However, I do think some teams are catching up fast. Clemson is also recruiting lights out right now.

I expect Saban to retire either after this season or the next. He would like to go out on top, but speaking to several Bama boosters they are already looking for his replacement
I don't think he wants to deal with the grind much longer

IMHO, this kind of talk is silly. Alabama will have a loaded roster whenever Saban retires, making T-town an extremely desirable destination for his eventual replacement.
They’ll be a 10+ win team as long as Saban is there and will hire the best available coach when he retires. They’re not going anywhere anytime soon.
While their reign of terror within the SEC may be over, they’re still a legit contender and will be for the foreseeable future.

This is all part of the plan for the SEC and ESPN. Write opinion pieces about the demise of the Tide. Gives Saban something to motivate his team with. Gives him something to whine about..... aiiigghttt?
And, if they win out, then it’s all “Look at me!” We’re still here. Blah, blah, blah....
It’s all Tide propaganda to make a sympathetic case for the committee.
Excuse me while I hurl.....

The difference is, LSU is the only team in college football that can end the Saban dynasty. The only thing that’s been holding LSU back all these years is not having a modern day offense. Now we have a head coach who is willing to evolve, we are wrapping up a deal to keep the offensive mastermind that turned the LSU program around, and we have the best DC and some of the best defensive players in the country

If you define it by the generally used terms, yes it is (and probably has been already). We are now one of a handful of very good programs year in and year out. We are no longer the lone superpower.
This...
Who would you include in that group Summer?
No particular order:
Clemson
LSU
Bama
Ohio State
Georgia
Oklahoma
Auburn will be back
Florida is coming on
PAC10 team one day?

Alabama can still be very much one of the elite programs in College Football no doubt about that.
What this does feel is like for the first time in several years they have a serious threat in their own division for the foreseeable future. The only program with that potential is LSU. AU is tough but doesn’t have the same advantages. All others are just filling space.

Geez. Talk about an overreaction.

Same as yours I think
I think Oregon has a chance to join that list with how much better their roster will be than their league (depending on SC).
Other teams will be very good but not year in and year out title contenders (Auburn, Florida, Texas, Wisconsin, Michigan, etc).

Alabama will be fine, even if Saban retires. I'm simply saying that Saban is starting to look extremely worn down. I know that if Bama had won last year, he intended to retire at that time.
Man wants to go out on top

Clemson has won 2 of the last 3 national titles, so I'm going to disagree with you

I agree, but you don’t think Florida will make it back as a contender?

I don't think Dan recruits well enough to be in that elite, national title every year group.
They could certainly have a year when it comes together, but I don't think they'll be in that top group.
