This is the greatest thing I've read this week ... and it's the first stinkin' week of the season!
Congratulations, Ag!
Thank you for your service.
Thank you for ministering to the Army community and beyond.
And thank you for your leadership.
Please don't ever hesitate to reach out to your Aggie family here on tARK, should you ever need additional prayer warriors, immediate support, and ongoing strength.
Gig'em!

Thanks for the kind words, everyone. It’s an honor to serve those who serve.

IA, are you AC or RC? Where is your first unit of assignment?

Whoop.
My boy just started West Point, so I am on a few FB and IG groups for parents and alums. Lots of BOLC references lately for the recent grads, so I had to look up what it stood for.
You've helped me be a little less ignorant. Thank you for your service.
BTW, which one are you?

Any chance we can chat about that experience? My oldest is starting to explore this option. Getting answers is like drinking from a fire hose.

You finished BOLC?
How was it? I am trying to determine if I made the right decision in NOT following Ma and Pa and joining the Army.
(My parents [both Vietnam Vets] pushed me away from military service so hard, I never had a chance)

Sure. Send me an email to gregorypecktd@maildrop.cc (temporary email inbox). Include the name of the WWII ranger that that scaled the cliffs on D-Day, transformed A&M to coed and civilian, and has a tower named after him on campus.
Not about to post my real email address on an "LSU site".

It’s hard to quantify in a single comment. Ours was longer than most since chaplains direct commission. We have an initial military training phase as well.
Lots of early morning pt, a full day of classes, and some field training.
To answer a previous question, I’m a Guard chaplain. I’ve been with my unit for about a year, but completion of the course allows me to be deployable.

Young fella, you may not get it yet. But that phrase won over a lot of hearts and minds. Good luck, and congrats!
